KIWI Waitangi Day-Jingjoes Aussie bar Udon.

This one slipped by me until a Kiwi customer reminded me of this day last night.

We will be having a belated Waitangi Day on Mon 12 Feb. The bar will be open at 12MD and food should be ready by about 4pm. This year we will be attempting a Maori Hangi, food cooked underground. The right rocks may be a problem, failing that we have alternative methods.

A few rules for the Kiwis.

No headhunting or cooking people.
Leave the white girls alone.
No war cries or painted faces to incite wars.
Pay for your bins.
No wrestling or fights.
No talk of the 1981 cricket underarm incident.

Well done Digger..your full of surprises..

you can use old engine parts, steel cylinder heads, brake drums, or railway irons, brakes etc etc, if you no have any rocks. Watch out for rocks that explode with heat. or your tucker will be blown all over Udon....all the oil and stuff on the engine parts will burn off after afew minutes in the fire..dont forget to wet your sacks..

Hiya Sport, doesnt have to be railway line, but plenty of smaller steel things associated with railway that you can use..

I did a hangi in Melbournstan once for a family member in Ringwood..Told the firey boys we were having one, no problem mate, lit this big fire with engine parts in it, and bugger me if the thing didnt smoke like the blazers, waffing thru and blotting out suburbia, family freaked, sirens came wailing off in the distant, and just as they neared our street the smoke burnt off, and they drove past like pig dogs that had lost the scent..next day on the front page of the big paper, said it was the driest in 145yrs...it was a good hangi..

The pit has been dug Maaka and it was fired up this morning with heaps of wood. Found some rocks and bricks that have not exploded in 4 hours so they should do the trick.

Were you trying to burn out the Aussie rules mob in Melbourne, although can see the funny part of your hangi 555.
