Plasti Dip paint

Post by tamada » March 8, 2018, 11:37 am

I can get this online (once I find the misplaced link to their website) but wondering if anyone has seen this on sale around the car tarting-up places and the like? Looking for the matt black aerosol to re-do the fake, heat-resistant, space shuttle re-entry panels on the nose of my Ranger.

The paint shop on the corner of Dulyadej Road and Watthananuwong Road has heat resistant matt black paint, bought some last week, about 120 baht.

Not the same stuff but looks interesting bob. What are you using it for?

The PlastiDip is rubber-based so good for curved surfaces on cars, rims and the likes, Peels off when it's time to replace it. Better than conventional car 'wrap' which apparently can bugger up the base paint layer underneath if you want to change it.

I bought Bosny brand aerosol black rubber paint at Do Home maybe two years ago.

I have also seen some at certain outlets of Mr D.I.Y. around town.

Otherwise yes, lazada is the best bet. I bought white latex paint a few months back online with them.

I remember years ago while serving in HM Forces, we had some rubberised paint to put on specific parts of some vehicles , it they were going to be involved in water landing etc:

However immediately after said exercise it had to be removed as the METAL underneath never dried out and slowly rotted. Now I suspect that the paint lauded on this post is similar and any paint so applied to metal , the meta
l must be checked prior to to application and afterwards constantly to detect any decomposition of the metal involved .

here more so as heat and damp are prevalent and most things rot one way or another.
