Pleased to say this morning 3DM fitted the GUINNESS draft into THE TAP next door ...

The true BLOND WITH A BLACK SKIRT as it was known in the past and many an Irish housewife complained of the husband having a mistress - the blond with the black skirt in the local public house.

3DM have strict product testing and quality control regulations so DM had to check several pints to make sure the gas settings , creamyness and taste were up to our high standards ...i can confirm ITS BLOOMING LOVERLY and Joe the Thai Jock manager stepped in to halt testing .

The new TAP owners have made the decision to put the black gold over the bar at a crazy promo price starting TODAY 4PM until the first delivery of kegs is sold out or until APRIL 6th which ever comes first.

So GUINNESS 160 bt / PINT... here in UDON everyday not only Tuesdays !!

As info only ..3DM are supplying products to the Tap and due to the fact Dao and I are under contract to help the new owners for a period of 30 days post business sale of course we are still involved training in all aspects of the business including marketing.
One of the new owners has been in hospital the last few days after an accident so requested i assist and post on their sponsor thread regarding any issues relating to beers n promos like the Guinness deal etc... seems like some people are needing information with absolutely zero intention to actually visiting the place.

Ok Tam .. a coupla the guys last night asked about your whereabouts ... i told then you were away enjoying a cultural temple hopping experience .
First keg sold GONE yesterday mate but plenty still in stock for the 160 promo. One patron managed 11 pints all on his own and pleased to see the Thais got into it as well as the expats

NOW as in TODAY timothy ... actually some punters arrived very early yesterday and cracked on with the black stuff well before 4 ... also as i was product testing at 12 noon yesterday patrons enjoyed a few pints ..so im sure if you drop by you will be accommodated .

The new owners have intimated they may change the opening times in the future.

Another decent day for the blond in a black skirt sales , a few UM "faces" visited to sample and seems our Thai patrons are also enjoying the best price in town for Guinness !! THANKS to all who dropped in .

NOT 100% Certain but I'd say it is The Malaysian one,As I Know that Guinness Does'nt travel THAT Well & I't's a awful lot further to The Emerald Isle.....Just my 2 Bob's Worth !!!

The Guinness LIKE ALL OTHER Guinness in Asia including Thailand comes from Malaysia where it is manufactured under license from Dilagio Ireland ...anyone saying otherwise is telling porky pies .

Yes, it is clearly noted, but I didn't feel like reading through two pages of self promotion. A few of the sellers in CM claim it is the Irish version, but you're right again, bar owners lie. I drink the Irish ones for 42 THB, 325 ml bottles, when I am in the States (occasionally), so 160 for Halal Guiness doesn't get me as excited as it may those from the higher sin-tax nanny states. Good luck though, and it is good to see at least one place with an alcohol promotion.

Back to bizz .. pleased to say the Tap VIP ( ) restaurant area is nicely Pre booked this evening ... but still plenty of room in the RIFF RAFF zone where FOOTY WILL ON ON FROM 6-45 PM .. Oxford v Scunny ... get here early for that and the on going GUINNESS 160 PINT PROMO ..to avoid being out in the car park.

A great company. Jim Cramer on MadMoney talks about it regularly. They did drop the ball when they sold Bushmills for a mere 20 million or so, about 20 years ago. Irish Whiskey has been the fastest growing segment of the spirit business for years. I have seen Irish folks drinking Jack Daniels....can't believe it..as an AMerican I would rather have a Jameson or Bushmills any day of the week, or hour of the day. They have been exporting Guiness to the US since before it was the US.

AGREE ..im not a spirit drinker and rarely partake BUT when i do its Jameson for me no mixer just a single ice cube .. a few guys of Irish heritage who frequent the Tap all mention Bushmills ... i cannot comment as never a drop has passed my lips .

We start to sell after the Songkhran Hols are done n dusted , will be sold by the bottle not case and pricing is looking very favourable indeed..

I have been told that the Protestants prefer Bushmills, and the Catholics Jameson. I think both are excellent. But, when Bushmills was 16 per liter at Duty Free US, and Jameson was 20 ....it was a very easy choice. I did notice the Tesco Expresses started selling 70 cl Jameson within the last year...1099 THB. Liquor is high, here, IMO. Part of the move to make BKK like KL or Sing...heaven forbid!

Question, Drunk Monk, what temp do you serve your Guiness at? Do you use chilled glasses at all? Did you take the manufacturers recs or adjust for the heat? I have noticed a lot of folks, who were raised on "cellar temp," have a tough time navigating cold beer. The Mexicans do quite well in that department. Of course, there has only been refrigeration in Thailand for 82 years...they'll figure it out sooner or later.
