Trump signed legislation into law that allows terminally ill patients the right to seek drug treatments that have not been fully approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

“Today I’m proud to keep another promise to the American people as I sign the Right to Try legislation into law,” Trump said.

Scott Gottlieb, the Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, attended the event, noting that it took 3-10 years for federal approval for drugs, a process that he was working to speed up. The president noted that political figures had been pushing legislation for the right to try for 25 years, but that it never made it through.

Several American citizens currently fighting terminal illnesses and promoting the legislation joined the administration for the signing event. Trump expressed disappointment that some of the people present were seeking treatment in other countries because of restrictions in America.

“America has always been a nation of fighters who never give up. This is very personal for me, as I proudly sign this bill, thousands of terminally ill Americans will have the help, the hope, and the fighting chance that they will be cured.”

US citizens are surprised with the progress Trump is making even though the useless congress seems to be fighting him at every step. If the democrats want to win any elections, they are going to have to come up with a viable message. At his point their platform is I hate Trump. That's not going to win any elections. If the obstructionist trend continues, they may lose even more seats.

Agree.

"Hate Trump" is all the Dems have going.

It's why they fight so hard against any successes for America that Trump may receive credit for orchestrating. The more America improves and succeeds on different levels, and the more Trump gets some credit for it, the worse Dems look. Trump's successes have gotten them to embrace illegal aliens, love MS-13 gang members, praise KJU, praise communist China, defend Hamas, etc. The idiots have even announced that they will rescind the tax cuts.

The Dems are putting themselves on the wrong side of every issue important to Americans who love their country.

If Trump came out and said he loves puppies, the LIBs/PROGs would say "puppies are horrible".

U.S. - Foreign Trade

Good to see Juncker squealing like a stuck pig today after Trump imposed a 25% tarriff on Steel and 10% on Aluminium. Once again we see Trump actually doing what he said he would, there was a $146 billion trade deficit between the States and the EU and he quite rightly says enough is enough. I’m pretty sure Coca Cola and PepsiCo will be lobbying like crazy and it’s sad that the smelts and warehouses in Europe will suffer but perhaps the powers that be should have listened a bit harder when POTUS warned them, trouble is they called his bluff and lost.

Marvellous viewing, he’s furious but manages to keep a lid on it, like Trump would care...

US military officials announced that they have killed more than 70 senior Taliban leaders in a series of precision strikes over a ten day period between May 10 and May 26.

US Marines tracked 50 Taliban leaders to a meeting location in Helmand Province. Twenty other leaders from six other provinces across Afghanistan were also taken out. These precision strikes were executed with rocket artillery, drones and A-10 Warthog jets.

The military spox stated that it would take months for the Taliban to regroup -- which they expect to happen -- due to such a large number of leaders being removed from the conflict all at once.

There are currently 15,000 US troops in Afghanistan, which is down considerably from the 100,000 that Obama stationed there.

Yes, the US has been on the short end of the trade stick for a long time -- worldwide.

As you put it so well: "enough is enough."

Coke and Pepsi will not care Vince. Almost all materials used in their local bottling plants (except the secret ingredient) are sourced as locally as possible. They dont export from the USA.

They're huge importers of aluminium as are the car companies, most aluminium is shipped out of Rotterdam and Amsterdam and will thus be affected.

WHERE ARE THE LINKS?

Lt. Gen. Robert P. Otto, Air Force chief of staff for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, said leadership strikes have only a short-term effect: "We cannot kill our way out of this war."

"America, do you think that victory comes by killing a commander or more?" a spokesman, Abu Mohammed Adnani, said in a recorded message released May 21. "We will not be deterred by your campaigns and you will not be victorious."

U.S. commanders tend to agree that killing Islamic State's leaders one by one won't end the war any more than killing Osama bin Laden in 2011 ended the terrorist threat from al-Qaida.

Economic development, middle class life and good sxx lives will cut back the number of nutbars. If there are fewer US soldiers in Afghanistan I think that's probably a good thing.

Trade deficits aren't necessarily bad. And few experts say tariffs fix this kind of problem. Tariffs and retaliatory tariffs might make it worse:

Trump risks a global recession that will hurt Americans and others. This isn't good news.

Here’s a less biased view on how trade deficits affect economies, economists will rarely agree but using the NY times as a reference.....really? My own personal view is that long term deficits do not benefit the US, I guess time will tell. #MAGA

According to a study from the University of Wisconsin released this week, Trump's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act led to an increase in defined-benefit pension plans in 2017. The act was signed into law in December and lowered the corporate tax rate from 35 to 21 percent.

Researchers found that the rate reduction provided an incentive to companies to increase their contributions in 2017 so that they can take advantage of the deductions at the higher tax rate in 2017. They also found that on average, the companies increased their unexpected pension contributions by $16 million each. This increased contribution amounts to roughly 24% increase from 2014 to 2016.

The American economy continues to benefit from Trump’s tax cut legislation. The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Index found that consumer confidence continues to stay at a 17-year high.
