It's great to see the Toffees still driving another Map thread along very nicely just as Prince Harry has been doing for the Windsors recently.

Zinedine Zidane leaves Real Madrid.....maybe not such a shock as they are an ageing team in need of a rebuild. Unlikely they will win La Liga or the UEFA Champions League next season and its likely he knew he would be the fall guy. Leaving at the top after 3 successive Champions League titles should make him a much sought after coach.
But who will Real replace him with ? Pochettino was talked about a lot last season but he's just signed a 5 year deal at The Spuds this week......interesting but worrying for veteran poster mat80...

Finally, heartfelt apologies to Messrs. 747; dezzer, taxifor711 and GT93,for intruding into their private thread, and interrupting their always fascinating, always original

Certainly a quality midfielder - which United are in need of, even if Jose will attempt to turn him into a centre half.

United's forays into employing South Americans has been, historically, a failure though..
Still a better option than than spending £200M on sicknote Bale..

TOFFEES TARGET PLATTENHARDT
Everton are interested in signing left-back Marvin Plattenhardt from Hertha Berlin, according to Sky sources.
The 26-year-old is part of Germany’s squad for this summer’s World Cup in Russia, and already has already been earned six caps.
Plattenhardt plays for Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga and made 33 appearances last season, scoring once.
Watford were also interested in Plattenhardt but appear set to sign Bologna left-back Adam Masina.
One source has told Sky Sports News that Everton have also been keen on the former Italy U21 international.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/44460259Leeds United: Marcelo Bielsa signs contract to become new manager
Bielsa has previously managed clubs in his native Argentina, Spain, France, as well as Chile's national side.
Mmmm. All sounds like a recipe for success then..The Argentine has spent time in charge of Athletic Bilbao and Marseille, and was previously at Lille.
However, he has been out of work since December after being sacked by the Ligue 1 side following a run of three wins in 13 games.

Good luck Leeds fans....

Re: Football Rumours Mark 2
A very strong rumour that former Cheltenham Town boss,Mark Yates, will be unveiled as the new manager of Macclesfield Town, later today, with former Silkman,Neil Howarth,as his assistant.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.
Re: Football Rumours Mark 2
There you go...….
Mark Yates: Macclesfield appoint Solihull boss as manager
Macclesfield Town have appointed Solihull Moors boss Mark Yates as their new manager on a three-year deal.
Yates, 48, takes over the National League champions after former boss John Askey was appointed as Shrewsbury manager in June.
Yates had been in charge of National League Solihull since November 2017 and has also managed Kidderminster,Cheltenham and Crawley.
"I'm really pleased. It's happened really quickly but I'm joining a club with momentum and a club that are on the up," he told the club website.
"Everybody at the football club did a fantastic job last season and I just want to carry that on in a very competitive League Two.
"I'm looking forward to working with the players that are here but also bringing in some new faces too."
Yates led Moors to an 18th-place finish last season, six points above the relegation zone, having been bottom of the table when he joined them in November.
"I'm delighted to announce Mark as our new manager," club chairman Mark Blower said.
"He has all the attributes that we were looking for and I'm sure he will be a big asset for the football club. He has all the credentials to be the perfect man to lead Macclesfield Town on their return to the EFL."
