Neeemu.................At last Somebody got it in context.....A public forum may not be the best place for jokes on such a subject as tame as it was and the fact it was poking fun at professional footballers rather than anyone in the cave.

And I bet that when they are fully recovered and able to watch some of the World Cup and read/have explained some of the social media ..... most (if not all of) the boys will see the funny side of 747's joke. I do however wonder if they will be quite so happy to know that some money grabbin' b*stard was sitting up there whilst some were still trapped planning on how to make a quick buck out of their misery

The boys are out.....hooray! The coach is out......hooray! Now for the rest of the story.......as best as I can determine, not reported in the Thai press.

One must give credit to Stanton and Volanthen, the two divers who had the balls to go that extra 200 plus meters distance, beyond Pattaya beach, that first dive and so find the Boys.

After having dived for XXX meters in muddy water, presumably against a current, (from the Entrance to Pattaya Beach), they must have been exhausted, possibly low on air and yet they found the strength to just keep going.

Credit to All those who took part
That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.

Just read that the diving dctor's father has just passed away.

"As tears of relief and joy flowed at the conclusion to the Thai cave rescue that enthralled the world, hero Australian doctor Richard Harris soon learned the tragic news of his father’s death."

Junta leader Prayut Chan-O-Cha on Tuesday said the boys had been given a “minor tranquiliser” to prevent anxiety during the complex extraction bid.
But he had denied they were knocked out for an operation the chief of the rescue had dubbed “mission impossible”.

Dont know why he could not be honest about it. Who ever came up with the idea of knocking the kids out saved their lives. Wondered what an Australian anesthetist was doing inside the chamber. Brilliant rescue gents. Huge respect and admiration to all involved

According to BBC and other news agencies the boys were sedated and put in some sort of plastic stretcher and carried out. I haven't seen any mention that the kids actually did any scuba diving. My wife says they scuba dived from their original location to the staging area #3 where they then were put on stretchers and carried the rest of the way out. Does anyone know that to be the case?

There is a Thai Navy SEAL video showing a fair bit of the final rescue operation. It certainly looks as if the youngsters were in the stretchers for all of the journey. Each stretcher was accompanied with looks like 4 rescue divers through the underwater sections. There is no way the kids could have dived, even accompanied. Heavily sedated or sleeping saved their lives. I was really fearing for their safety as diving in those conditions is a real challenge even for experienced divers.

So, were those rescue stretchers actually submerged meaning the boys were using full face masks and oxygen tanks, or were they able to float the stretchers on the surface with no need for the masks and tanks? I'm glad that they are out and safe regardless of how it all went down, but let's not be praising the boys for performing miraculous feats of treacherous scuba diving with no prior experience if that never really happened. As is usually the case, one never gets the complete and truthful story from the Thai authorities. Several news sources are reporting that the boys were sedated, yet the big boss denies it.

From all the news here in the uk they were all sedated and full face resperators were used and i believe they were placed inside a sealed bag the thai chief did not want the news reported this was why 1 of the boys looked lifeless when he was taken into the Ambulence. They did not scuba the only thing they were taught was how to feel the respirator on there face.

The big boss denied they were given anesthetic and protested the media saying it as he felt that would be ludicrous.

They were given anti-anxiety pills. He says exactly of the type he takes when shooting.

They were stretchered out. Smart.

Not sure why anyone second guesses now after WHAT WAS DONE ACTUALLY WORKED.

I figured they were done for as soon as the military started talking about them being given 4 months of food to last till monsoons were over, as if the kids were boxes of ammo stored on a shelf.

Thankfully a real rescue happened.

p.s. Vlad make up your mind are you Vlad or Vlad123456.

As is usually the case, one never gets the complete and truthful story from the Thai authorities. Several news sources are reporting that the boys were sedated, yet the big boss denies it.
The pictures come as those who took on the remarkable rescue mission revealed the youngsters passed through the flooded cave "sleeping" on stretchers.

A former Thai navy SEAL, who was the last diver to leave the cave, said the children were "groggy" but breathing.

Commander Chaiyananta Peeranarong said: "Some of them were asleep, some of them were wiggling their fingers... [as if] groggy, but they were breathing."

He also said the boys' condition and pulse had to be checked constantly by doctors stationed along the dark corridors of the Tham Luang cave in the north of Thailand.

Just a coincidence that there was an Australian Anesthetist in the space where the youngsters were found for the duration of the rescue. Coming out they would have been totally submerged for quite long periods of time in what amounts to cold coffee latte (zero visibility) so being unaware (sleeping) stops any chance of panic which is the cause of most diving fatalities. Brilliant idea and saved these kids lives. If 'big boss' takes the same when shooting doubt he ever hits the target.

Any way you look at it, you can't argue with success. It's not important how they did it, the boys all got out alive. It was an amazing rescue. Many thanks to everyone involved especially the brave divers and the one diver who lost his life.
