Yes. The Queen's role is very restricted and largely ceremonial although I suspect you lads are referring to other differences.

They were thinking a couple of things.
1. " I wish he was our boss".
2. " Can we march to London and bayonet the anti-Trump protesters and bust their balloon with Mr Trump leading"
3. " I am happy Mr Trump is on our side, a great man with steel in his veins".

As an ex British soldier myself , I can assure you, NONE of those guardsmen would be thinking that they wanted a war dodging reality tv star as their " boss " . Their sworn allegiance is to the queen of England, not a Tw"t like that.

I agree with you there. One is a relevant, important leader in the world, the other is nothing more than a reminder of a bygone era perpetuating class distinction, religious dogma, lifelong hereditary status based on nothing more than exiting the correct tunnel at the right time. It's absurd. I read criticisms of Americans and the American political system on this forum every day, yet some Brit wilting lilies can't stomach a little return fire. Grow up. The monarch of Britain retains the power to dissolve parliament -- that position is not apolitical. Fair game. Brits should learn a little about their own broken system rather than spend hours daily bashing someone else's. I have zero respect for the queen of England and laugh heartily at stories and videos of uptight Brits fretting over people breaking her ridiculous and pretentious rules. Feel free to disagree.
