A second round of tax cuts for the American People are now squarely on the front burner. Trump met with GOP members of the House after returning from Helsinki.

The second phase of cuts will be ready in multiple bills by September or October -- just before the midterm elections in November.

Since the first tax cut, there have been over 400 major companies that announced pay raises, bonuses and additional retirement contributions.

The package of multiple bills will include one provision of permanency for the cuts with no expiration date. Making the cuts permanent gives the economy an added boost in consumer sentiment and outlook. The middle class will be targeted even more than in the first cuts. Part of the impetus hoping to affect the middle class is providing easier ways for families to save -- both for health care and retirement. These would come in the form of tax-free savings accounts earmarked specifically for retirement or health care, but details have not been formulated.

Small businesses will also reap benefits in the second round of cuts.

In the first tax cut measure, the corporate rate was cut to 21%. There may be more cuts to help businesses expand and hire even more employees. However, the cut is planned to be only a percentage point or two.

As Larry Kudlow, Trump's economic advisor has said:
"The United States economy is going through a very positive transformation right now, as I said earlier: lower tax rates, rollback of regulations. The war against business is over. Word is that EU prez Juncker will appear in the US to make a 'free trade' offer for Trump's consideration, according to WH Economic Advisor Larry Kudlow.

Lowering tariffs would be incredible economic stimulus for an already soaring US economy. Trump has repeatedly stated that he is willing to abolish all tariffs, all trade barriers and all subsidies to have REAL free trade.

I doubt that Juncker will opt for totally free trade because the EU has had the advantage for years, and the US has been losing the trade war for a long, long time.

The Times profiled a 62-year-old retiree from the Bronx to highlight this improved job market for retirees. The retired nurse has gone back to work earning $60 an hour. She earns that in addition to her pension now. She is there part time and only works 24 hours over 2 days.
