As for The Spuds.....
Tottenham have agreed new long-term contracts with forwards Son Heung-min and Erik Lamela.
South Korea international, Son, 26, has signed a new five-year deal until 2023 while Argentine Lamela, 26, has penned a four-year extension until 2022.
Son joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, and has scored 47 goals in 140 appearances for the north London side.
Lamela, arrived from AS Roma in 2013 and has registered 23 goals in 154 games for the club.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Seems crazy to sign Son to a 5 YEAR deal .......... if he spends 2 in the Army he will be in no fit state to play prem football for at least another year whilst regaining fitness/sharpness etc if ever.

"PALACE MAKE £8.9M GONALONS OFFER
Crystal Palace have made an £8.9m offer for Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons, according to Sky Italy.
The 29-year-old is a defensive midfielder who has eight caps for France.
Palace need midfield reinforcements following the departure of Yohan Cabaye. "
I can see the fans having a bit of fun with that name

2 in ONE day ????
Has someone in HM Govt threatened to cut off one of Ashleys Tax loopholes??
SCHAR UNDERGOES NEWCASTLE MEDICAL
Newcastle are closing in on Deportivo La Coruna defender Fabian Schar after activating a £3m release clause in his contract, according to Sky sources.
The Swiss international is due on Tyneside on Wednesday and will undergo a medical with the club.
Newcastle are looking to replace Chancel Mbemba, who they sold to Porto for £7m earlier this month.
The Magpies have been tracking Schar, who won three Swiss titles with Basel, for some time.
The 26-year-old left Basel to join Hoffenheim in 2015 where he made 30 appearances before joining Deportivo last year.
NEWCASTLE AGREE MUTO DEAL
Newcastle have agreed a deal with Mainz to sign striker Yoshinori Muto for £9.5m, according to Sky sources.
The 25-year-old Japanese striker is currently on a flight from Tokyo to Newcastle after they agreed a fee with Mainz, with the move subject to the player gaining a work permit.
Muto played for Japan in the World Cup in Russia.

SHAW WANTS NEW UNITED DEAL
Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is keen to earn a new deal at Old Trafford.
The defender has been in and out of the United side since he was signed in the summer of 2014 and is entering the last year of his contract.
"I want to earn a contract. I don't want a contract because, in the next year I'm a free agent, so they might look to tie me down," he said.
"I know the club believe me. If they really wanted to, they could've cashed in. I'm going to fight for it this year and I want to be in that starting team."
He HAS to be the only one that thinks the club believe in him
How the hell could they have "cashed in" there is NO WAY any club (even Everton) would pay half of what United paid for him
Perhaps if he had "fought for it" last year or the year before he wouldnt have been the fat little benchwarmer that he is, and could have EARNED a transfer somewhere else (Macclesfield may be
)

individual: POCH WILL ONLY BUY QUALITY
Former captain Ledley individual believes Mauricio Pochettino is taking the right approach to transfers despite Spurs failing to sign anyone so far this summer.
"Obviously everyone else is adding to their squads and I'm sure the manager is looking," individual told SSN.
"But he will only bring in the right players for the right prices and I think that's important.
"We need people who are really going to make an impact in the squad. If not, then we don't need to buy.
Not sure why he should suddenly change his attitude this season ............ Davinson Sanchez and Serge Aurier spring to mind[-X

CHELSEA TARGET PICKFORD
Chelsea have made England No 1 Jordan Pickford their main transfer target if, as expected, Thibaut Courtois moves to Real Madrid in this window, SSN understands.
Kasper Schmeichel and Jack Butland are among the possible replacements at Stamford Bridge, but we’ve been told this afternoon that Pickford ranks above both of them on Chelsea’s wanted list.
Everton are likely to resist any approach for the man they signed for £30m from Sunderland last summer and who still has four years left on his deal. He was Everton’s Player of the Year last season in both the awards voted for by fans and his teammates.
Chelsea have yet to make a formal approach to Everton and tere’s been no comment from either club so far.
Looks like Everton will luckily get a chance to recoup some of the money they wasted on him last season after all

IS ZAHA SET TO LEAVE PALACE?
Could Wilfred Zaha be set to leave Crystal Palace? Well, the forward - who has been linked with a move to Spurs - has just left a cryptic message on Instagram saying: "Today is the day I make a change with everything."
Not only that, but the Ivorian also removed the Palace logo from the bio on his Instagram page for all you conspiracy theorists...

The thing you should be worrying about TAXI is the fact that Moshiri's mate (the guy with all the money) has said he wants out of Arsenal where he owns 30 % ............. that then leaves him and his billions clear to join up with Moshiri at Everton

If you are reading this Matt, I hope all is OK youve been a bit quiet lately
What Id like to know is your opinion on the Spurs transfer activity?
As I read it they are in for either Zaha or Grealish not because they want either, but more because they need at least one of them to make up their English trained contingent or else they will go into the season with a short squad. Worse still they will only have a 20 man squad for CL

MINA TO MANCHESTER?
Manchester United could turn their attentions to Colombia international Yerry Mina if they fail to bring either Harry Maguire or Toby Alderweireld to Old Trafford, reports the Daily Mirror.
Like Maguire, Mina impressed at this summer’s World Cup, scoring twice, including a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser against England in the last-16.
Mina is expected to leave Barcelona this week despite only joining the La Liga champions in January.
Everton and Lyon have been touted as a possible destinations for the 23–year-old, but the Mirror claim United could rival them for Mina’s signature.

Re: Football Rumours Mark 2
OK here's a question. Anyone understand what is happening with transfer fees?
Mitro was wanted by Fulham after his loan spell last year but Fulham only wanted to pay 16m and Newcastle said they wanted 18m.
Yesterday a deal was done for 22m (rising to 27m with add ons)
I'm sure I must be missing something here, but why didnt they just pay the 18m we had valued him at?
Has a new "Richarlson added tax" been introduced for all Premier League Transfers?
