I've been to Erawan Cave 5 or so times, but haven't been in the past 13 or more years. I know from past trips that this time of the year is a good time to go.......generally less hot and the rice fields are all greened up.
Lucky for me, the day was overcast....threatening of rain, but didn't get any (there).
The 600 steps up to the top are in good condition as are the paths that lead through the cave. If you haven't been, you enter on one side of the mountain (the statue side) and come out overlooking the surrounding countryside on the other side of the mountain. You have to reenter the cave and go down the same 600 steps. There are some serious declines and inclines inside the cave, but again, the steps are in good condition and not slick.
When all was said and done, my sportswatch said I had climbed the equivalent of 44 floors. I feel like it!
Definitely worth a visit.

Re: Erawan Cave
It's a beautiful place, I've climbed it twice but never again, it's a hard slog getting up there.
The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.
