Horses Out to Pasture?

Apparently the Udon Horse Track is slated to close sometime next year.....after more than 30 years of operation. The 200 rai of land is 'zoned' as residential and supposedly worth 400,000,000 Baht based on current land valuation in that area.
The article doesn't say so (I don't think), but I'd guess there was a 30 year lease on the land......and that's set to expire.
Naturally, all those involved with the track.....the horse owners, trainers, vendors, jockeys, etc are pushing for an extension of operations.
No word yet on what will happen.
