"The Four Floors of *****" Refers to the top 4 floors of Orchard towers which is all P4P bars -not cheap- think $S250 (thai baht 6000) LT. lots of Thai Girls (on 2 week visa) sum PRC and Pinoys (something for everyone!!!) even LBs. Street scene around Geylang more Thais, sum Malays and Indos and even Curry Munchers if ya fancy sum tandori "chicken"
BUT !!! and this is the kicker. There is no GFE !
IE: NO TOOTHPASTE ON YOUR BRUSH IN THE MORNING!!
Gunna make my stand on this crazy sum of Sin sot (if thats wot is) and let the dice fall where they may.

Hi Badger,I have appreciated some of your posts.Iam not in your position or no the complete circumstances of your situation.If you believe this is really the woman of your dreams,and it s within your budget,then why not?You haven't had to buy a diamond ring or any of the other bs things we typically are pressured to buy in the west.But I do agree with a lot of the other posters,about the sinsod.I told my wife to tell her Mother that many women in Thailand and my country could be with me,because of the money I could send them,so why should I pay a Dowry?At the time,I didn't realize that was being bold as a Lion,but she was divorced.And later I found out my bluff was good,because they had many money problems.In response to Prenders88,don't Singapore ladies come from everywhere?

I would add that if she's trying it on now(near the beginning) chances are it wont stop. Generally the only acceptable excuse is that you simply don't have the money. This has to be believable by skimping on every single thing in her presence. This explains why farangs with long term Thai women seem to "adopt the Thai customs" so amazingly ie. they eat with their fingers, they eat all Isaan food, they dress in COMPLETE RAGS. To my amazement, they (the Thai girls) wont split up with you for this. But you eat with a knife and fork, well thats put you in the VIP bracket and end of story. Crazy ..its like dealing with little children telling them you cant afford it...but thats what the smart money does. And, the girls are controlled by the terror of their parents disowning them which (some) of their parents use on them. Its all blackmail in the LOS! This aint no HK or SIngapore here! Its ruthless Isaan, its corrupt, they're probably mostly drifters, probably worked with some pretty bad people. The best solution (so I hear) is getting yourself a good one. Which in all likelihood means your going to have to overcome the social anxiety that lead you to be with an "easy" Thai girl in the first place! That is the not easy, highly painful reality "red pill" solution that would be more likelyto lead t years of happiness rather than unhappiness. My wager is going on she will try it again if it doesn't work this time and all other solutions to stay with this girl are myopic, short sighted, temporary and potentially disasterous (what if you get her pregnant...nobody thought of that...did they????). Remember every moment spent with her is a moment lost on not looking and testing for one that could make you happy. The hardest part will be ending the rship, but skip to a different country. And when you find a good one, commit! Rather than let her make the decision. Be the bee not the flower.

You do realise that you are replying to a thread that is 11 years old. By the way, are you from New Zealand? The reason I ask is that there is a Kiwi who likes to reply to out-of-date posts.

Finally, you display little understanding of Thai/Isaan culture, and basically none of Thai women and their families. Try doing a bit of research, and living in Isaan. Then get back to us. I do hope you can speak Thai or Isaan or both.

It's not always that way. My wife was never married and had no children. She never bothered to tell her parents that we were getting married. When we went upcountry to see her family, she introduced me as her husband. Her family had no comments.

Being greedy -- wanting more what's good for you -- is not a crime or even a bad characteristic to have unless it causes someone to break the law or does criminal harm to someone. For some folks, it only means that they work double shifts and/or overtime to make more money. They give up something to gain more of what they want. I even know some guys who are greedy for time off, so they give up shifts to others in order to do what they want to do instead of going to work.

Over 10 years in Thailand, I've only had a few bad experiences with price gouging -- otherwise known as getting a "falang price." Fortunately, I shop around, and didn't get snared.

One was an attorney (wanted more than double the going rate just to notarize a document already prepared). Another was a computer repair shop (Found someone who performed the same task for about 33% less). The other was a motorcycle parts/accessory shop (wanted more than double the price for a big bike lift). I've also found a couple of pharmacies that try to take advantage of in pricing.

I can't get over the fact that they don't think about the fact that if their price gouging is discovered that they not only lose that sale, but also lose a potential customer forever -- along with all the potential customers from word of mouth had they done a great job.

For the vast majority of my experiences -- easily more than 90% -- I have been treated very well.
