Is there a well-educated German in Udon?

I'm an American writer, just having the cover of a joke book translated into German- and I have two questions. (Happy to take you to lunch while you answer these questions, which should take one or two minutes.) My American friends who told me they know German- it turns out they took it in high school and don't really know much. Please PM me.
