Booking Flights from Ireland

Post by Sabai » May 8, 2007, 7:54 pm

Hello again

I have booked my flights to BKK. But booking the flights from BKK to Udon from here in Dublin they are charging me 6000 BHT per person is it cheaper booking a flight when I arrive in Thailand or is there another way to get it cheaper.

Replies appreciated

Thanks Sabai

Well, it's way cheaper than 6000 baht from BKK to Udon, even return.

If you are flying with Thai, they maybe able to give you a special price. If not Nok might be your best bet. You can book them youself in advance on the Internet, through www.nokair.com, or take a chance booking at the airport when you get there.

NB. Be careful though, as assuming you will be arriving on an International flight, you will be arriving at Suvarnabhumi (the new Bangkok airport) and the Nok domestic flights to Udon go from the old Don Muang Bangkok airport. So allow a few hours to clear Immigration, transfer and check-in at the other airport.

Remember Thai and Nok from The old Airport, and asia from new airport as Arjay said allow extra time for transfers if changing airports, 6000+ baht return is the correct price for Thai sometimes they may have an offer on but when ever i want to buy a ticket its usually the standard fare., although someone posted on another thread their gf purchased a Thai flight for 1700 baht one way in an agent in the complex.

Thanks for your replies. I will get the wifes mother to book the flights over there. The rate here is 6000 baht one way, so somebody is making a nice profit, there is 4 of us in the family flying over for 6 weeks so we will save quite a lot.
P.S. I tried Lek car rental they were very nice at 1000 Baht a day for a new pick up, but a friend of mine does it for 800 Baht a day at the Charoen Hotel Fully Comp because I need it for six weeks.

Anyway Thanks lads hope to see you in the Clock some Saturday .

Sabai.

6000 baht one way
can't see where that price came from (or is it just a greedy travel agent??) . one way is

1 adult(s) x (2,585.00 + 555.00) = 3,140.00 THB .

Book on line with Thai and check prices too, remember to put Don Muang as Departure airport.

or call Thai airways direct.

and as you will be transfering to the old airport anyway it could be a better deal, but watch-out for excess baggage cost with Nok. !!

Tried booking with Nok air tonight, it appears that Nok plus has been withdrawn, I will check tomorrow with them as to the baggage allowance, nok plus used to be 30kg each, regular nok is 15kg
