I'm sure that Macron has no influence whatsoever on this. 55555 I can empathize.Prosecutors have called for French far-right leader Marine Le Pen to be tried for tweeting pictures of atrocities committed by the Islamic State group, judicial sources said Friday.
This could hike further pressure on Le Pen, 50, who already faces legal problems over alleged misuse of EU parliamentary funds.
Le Pen shared the gruesome images in December 2015, a few weeks after ISIS jihadists killed 130 people in attacks in Paris. Her move sparking widespread condemnation in France.

Yellow Vests March for 17th Straight Week
March 9, 2019

Hundreds of protesters from France’s yellow vest movement marched Saturday for a 17th straight weekend in Paris and other cities to maintain pressure on the government to reverse policies they see as favouring the rich.
Women, some carrying pink balloons, led the calm and orderly Paris march, advocating for equal rights and equal pay a day after International Women’s Day.
A water cannon contained several hundred protesters who remained on the Champs-Elysees and wanted to leave the security perimeter.

France bans some yellow vest protests in Paris after riots
Source: Associated Press
No end in sight.France’s prime minister announced a ban Monday on yellow vest protests along the Champs-Elysees Avenue in Paris and in two other cities following riots on Saturday that left luxury stores ransacked and charred from arson fires.
Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said the ban will apply for an unspecified period in the neighborhoods that have been “the most impacted” in the cities of Paris, Bordeaux and Toulouse, where repeated destruction has occurred since the yellow vest protest movement began in November.
He also said Paris police chief Michel Delpuech will be replaced this week by prefect Didier Lallement. Philippe announced the measures following a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and top security officials that sought to avoid a repeat of Saturday’s violence, in which rioters set life-threatening fires, ransacked luxury stores and attacked police around the Champs-Elysees. Many of those high-end boutiques remained closed on Monday, some of them charred from arson fires set.
He acknowledged “dysfunction” in French police operations on Saturday, rejecting “inappropriate” orders given to security forces to use fewer rubber bullets following a controversy about the numerous injuries they’ve caused at previous protests.

Schools, transport, hospitals: How Tuesday's national strikes in France could affect you
Several unions, including the hard left CGT union, called for a national day of strikes and demonstrations on Tuesday in France, with large numbers of education workers expected to follow the call. Here's how it could affect you.
The CGT will be joined by the left wing FO union as it takes to the streets with the aim of galvanising the social movement and to protest low spending power, with both private and public sector workers expected to take part.
Education workers union, the FSU will also be taking part, along with student unions, including the UNEF and UNL (high school students), with their members protesting over the latest education reforms (more below).
In Paris, there will be a march from Boulevard Saint-Michel on the Left Bank to the Champs de Mars by the Eiffel Tower in the 7th arrondissement, starting at 1pm.
Head of the far left CGT union Philippe Martinez will take part as will the head of the FO union Yves Veyrier.
"We are determined to mobilize because we do not want to be spectators or give backing to decisions that are being made on social issues as a result of the Grand Debat (national consultation)," Veyrier told the French press.

Macron Deploys Armed Soldiers for Yellow Vest Protests
Source: Le Point
Conflicting reports surround the deployment of French soldiers to the Yellow Vest protests, demonstrations and riots. Will they avoid protesters and just guard property, or have they been given rules of engagement that allow them to open fire on the protesters?
Reports indicate that these specific soldiers have been reassigned to the Yellow Vest matter and taken off of duties that were relevant to anti-terror operations.
I'm curious to know if this is why Macron wanted an EU military -- to do his dirty work. Will the French military fight better against their own people than their history of fighting enemies? Just questions.

Macron has big problems. Think he will be re-elected? Even Macron supporters have to be disappointed in his failure to control the situation -- 21 weeks -- 5 months.PARIS (AP) – Protesters from the yellow vest movement are taking to the streets of France for a 21st straight weekend, with hundreds gathered for a march across Paris, one of numerous protests around the country.
Paris police have fine-tuned their strategy of being more mobile and proactive to counter eventual violence since the first Saturday of protests Nov. 17. The Champs-Elysees avenue is off-limits to protesters after it was hit by rioting last month.
Hundreds gathered in Rouen, in Normandy, a past flashpoint, and hundreds more in eastern Paris at the Place de la Republique, the start of a march to the business district on the capital’s western edge.

Macron Buckles: Tax Cuts Coming in France
Source: Ouest France
After 21 weeks, the French government is now considering tax cuts to stem the tide of protests and demonstrations.
France has the highest recorded tax burden of any developed nation in the world -- 46% of GDP.
French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe:
Macron is seen as being out of touch with ordinary people because he cut taxes for business and high earners to create a more business-friendly economy. Macron also hoped for lower unemployment and more job investments by business. In the meantime, there was no lifting of the tax burden on the ordinary guy.

Announcements This Week

Globalism still having problems gaining a foothold in Europe.
Macron is scheduled to announce changes in policy as a result of the Yellow Vest Protests.
Macron has avoided press conferences since his election, which is not surprising given that socialism has no defense or record of success without taking assets from the productive to give to the unproductive.
The Macron administration is claiming that there will be profound changes. We'll see.
One thing is certain. Macron better get it right.

The Yellow Vests Are Not Distracted

As expected, Macron is using the disaster at Notre Dame to deflect from his Yellow Vest problems. For many yellow vest protesters, the stinging sadness that came with the devastating fire at Notre Dame Cathedral has quickly given way to boiling anger.
Some of the activists, whose violent protests against inequality have been shaking up France for months, said they cried in front of their TV sets as they watched the Gothic architectural masterpiece being consumed by flames Monday night.
Despite their struggles to make ends meet, some even made small donations for the restoration of the iconic building.
But they also felt unheard when French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the nation to speak about the fire, instead of laying out his response to the social crisis that has fueled their protests since last November.
And they felt even more outraged when, in just a few hours, billionaires pledged hundreds of millions of dollars (euros) to help restore the damaged cathedral while their demands remain unsatisfied in their longstanding fight with the French government.
“You’re there, looking at all these millions accumulating, after spending five months in the streets fighting social and fiscal injustice. It’s breaking my heart,” Ingrid Levavasseur, a founding leader of the movement, told The Associated Press ahead of another round of planned protests across France this weekend.
Make no mistake. The Yellow Vests will be on the march again.Interior minister Christophe Castaner said 60,000 police officers will be mobilized on Saturday across France, and demonstrations near Notre Dame will be banned as he expects some protests to turn violent.
“What happened at Notre Dame is obviously a deplorable tragedy. But nobody died,” Levavasseur said. “I’ve heard someone speaking of national mourning. Are they out of their minds?”
The blaze at Notre Dame has sent a shockwave through France, but Levavasseur believes the image of unbroken national unity that arose in the aftermath of the fire is being politically exploited by Macron.
“It took him less than 24 hours to speak about the fire, while he made us wait for three weeks before addressing our issues,” she said.
My guess is that this intense attention to a building by Macron, as Yellow Vests have complained about, will come back to haunt Macron. It won't get him out of the political jam that he has created for himself.“The yellow vests will show their anger against the billion found in four days for stones, and nothing for the needy,” wrote Pierre Derrien on the Facebook page of a yellow vests group based in the southern city of Montpellier.

PARIS — French police clashed with stone-throwing protesters who set fires and smashed up vehicles as thousands of people gathered for May Day rallies Wednesday under tight security. About 165 arrests were made.
Police repeatedly used tear gas to try to control the crowd gathering near Paris’ Montparnasse train station for the main protest. It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were injured. One bandaged-up man with a head wound was helped away from the scene by paramedics.
Associated Press reporters saw groups of hooded, black-clad people shouting anti-police slogans, mixing with other protesters wearing yellow vests or waving union flags.
Some threw rocks and other objects at police officers, attacked a parked van in a nearby street, kicking the vehicle and breaking its windows.
Paris police said officers carried out more than 9,000 “preventive searches” of bags and arrested 165 people before the march.
Meanwhile, some peaceful protesters were waiting for the march to start. They were planning to head toward Place d’Italie in southern Paris.
French authorities have warned “radical activists” may join the Paris demonstration and renew scenes of violence that marked previous yellow vest protests and May Day demonstrations in the past two years.
More than 7,400 police are deployed in the French capital.
French police ordered the closure of more than 580 shops, restaurants and cafes on the Paris protest route and numerous subway stations were shut.
