You can't have Dual Citizenship to be a Politician, but you can swear allegiance to the Queen when you take the Job ....

Righto, lets kick Betty out, after all she is listed in the latest tax evasion release.
Re: Australian federal politics
Actually it turns out she is not involved in Tax evation at all, but she does have Money invested with some shonky companies ....
Re: Australian federal politics
The Queen is probably exempt from income tax in Oz. Menzies era pollies would have been falling over backwards to do that for her if it hadn't been done decades earlier.
The late individual of Sydney was notoriously hostile to paying tax. Now, he wasn't exempt from income tax.

This eagle eyed poster noticed the awful slur on Asian women by a not unimportant Aussie politician:
"Leaked footage shows a senior One Nation candidate calling a woman a "bitch" in a Washington DC strip club, as fallout from the party's controversial trip to the United States spreads. Queensland party leader Steve Dickson, who is second on his home state's Senate ticket for the May 18 federal election, was also caught saying Asian women don't "know what they're doing" during sex."

Queensland voters are usually pretty keen on red neck politicians. If Dickson is elected this won't assist Australia maintain good relations with its Asian neighbours.

Given things are so slow on the Map, I'm grateful for the entertainment from Steve Dickson and Al Jazeera.
It's a bit of a shame colourful Steve got the biff. If the Americans can elect Trump, surely Queenslanders could have elected Dickson.

Warringah is an interesting tussle as will be the Kangaroos - Carlton game this weekend. I'm hoping the 28th Prime Minister and Carlton lose.

I read the big gun, John Howard, visits Warringah. It must be tight.

Indeed. If old Queenslanders stumped for Joh Bjelke-Petersen all those years ago, the newer unenlightened ones would surely have voted for a real Dick(son).
Moot point now of course.

Re: Australian federal politics
Sportsbet
Waringah NSW
Zali Steggall (Independent) $1.80
Coalition (Abbot) $1.90
Ladbrokes
Next Election - Sworn in Government
Labor $1.12
Coalition $6.00
There's a feeling in the ALP that it would be beneficial if Abbot held his seat. He such an asset for the left.
And unless the Aussie Tories start throwing kids overboard quick smart its all over red rover for Scumo and his mob.
Watch Me!!
Re: Australian federal politics
Abbott probably thinks if he can be re-elected he'll eventually be able to become the leader of the Liberals again. He might be correct. Some of them are pretty dumb.
I loved seeing Keating sledge Dutton. No holding back there.

I’ll be hoping for a Liberal victory come Sunday.
Lefts and their warped attitude, much of which is opinionated in our schools, have turned me off any of their policies a long time ago now. Especially once you add the nutjobs from the greens.
Could be a few surprises though in the senate. Most being a backlash to the left.

Agree with you Barney. Hoping for a big swing away from the lefty snowflakes. PM Morrison should be sprouting more coal mines, the Bradfield water scheme from the north, nuclear power plants and tell the greens and independents who mostly only talk of the climate change fiasco to go jump in the sewer where they belong.

Re: Australian federal politics
GT93 prepare yourself for inheritance tax for the beneficiaries of your will and the progressive government legislating the introduction of sex change operations for children. Welcome to the new norm in left wing Australia.
Re: Australian federal politics
Cripes you have a very wide choice of candidates and parties for the Senate. I'm looking forward to seeing what nutbars might sneak in there.
You'd be a bit worried today if your neighbours were a couple of Rwandan men who had spent a decade in the US.
