Re: Will Trump make the Grade.

This piece from today's Economist Expresso very succinctly presents a view with which I concur:
True bromance: Trump and Kim

Historic, yes. But meaningful? This weekend Donald Trump became the first sitting American president to set foot in North Korea since the armistice in 1953 that ended the Korean war. His third meeting in just over a year with Kim Jong Un may lead to a fourth: Mr Trump invited the North Korean leader to the White House. It also signals a resumption of talks on the North’s nuclear programme. But the prospects for crunchy negotiations remain dim. There is little reason to imagine that Mr Kim is ready to surrender his nuclear weapons. Mr Trump himself downplayed North Korea’s recent tests of short-range missiles, claiming that America did not consider them missile tests. If peace-making is taken to mean improving relations with a rogue dictatorship, the meeting had some value. If the aim is to persuade North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons, it added very little.

You really are 'scraping the barrel' , supplying links to the Economist. Not renown for its fair handed articles these days.
Trump would still be vilified whatever he does.
The left wing sheep have been instructed to be critical of Trump and that is just what the left wing sheep are doing, but not surprising really for people who cannot comment themselves but have to post '''LINKS""

links to the Economist. . . .
Yes, and coming from a member of CBoS so intent upon targeting sources instead of refuting the content. Maybe they don't realize their hypocrisy, but I'm inclined to think that they don't care.

You're absolutely correct, joudon. No hater will ever give Trump any credit for anything that is a step in the right direction. The wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth were almost as loud as the verbal screeching and warnings of Trump starting WW3. Now look at them. Wringing their hands and gnashing their teeth over meeting a dictator in an effort to resume talks to denuclearize.

I wouldn't expect you (joudon) to understand, but:

is a comment, and I actually posted the full article, with the link for confirmation.

That's what serious posters do, not try and hide behind bullshiit and "trumpies", in the hope of misleading readers.

.

Another Energy Record Under the Trump Administration

US crude oil output has reached a new milestone of over 12 million barrels per day. A boom in shale production in the Permian Basin of West Texas is chiefly responsible for this production increase. US oil production is on pace to overtake both Russia and Saudi Arabia.

The Permian Basin is expected to be a catalyst for oil production growth for at least the next 5 years. The State of Texas alone holds over 60 billion barrels of shale oil, which is more recoverable oil than in Saudi Arabia.

STEADY WINNING for energy independence and supplying energy to the rest of the world.

Everything was supposed to be HORRIBLE by now BECAUSE TRUMP.
Now, just a minute. You know that that is neither what I said nor what I think. It's far from black or white. Trump has done things which have benefitted the country and which needed to be done. But he has also done things which have hurt the country. I think that some people here react to your perceived opinion that if it's Trump, it must be good. While you have said that that is not what you think, I have not yet heard anything which you think that Trump has done badly or hurt the country.

What is going on, it seems the democrats think their supporters are as dumb as Trumps. Why would you endorse free health care for anyone that has crossed your border illegally???? Are they that stupid!! It's either far right, a president who is a racist and rapist, or far left democrats advocating taking care of illegals, before their own. What a mess.

You should know better than that by now. I didn't accuse you of that. I accused the haters of that. Had it been you, I would have specifically said so. I was speaking in general terms of the critics of Trump. I have never categorized you in that number -- ever -- because you give credit to Trump for things that he has done that have benefited all Americans.

I believe I answered your question about the things with which I disagree with Trump. Because it's you, and because you are intellectually honest about your assessments on a regular basis and are civil in your discourse, I will recap. You might recall some of this after you read them.

1. Trump says things that sometimes don't need to be said -- when it would be better to ignore the idiots out there. For some uncanny reason, it rarely hurts him in the long run. I agree with his use of Twitter because the media doesn't report on the progress that is made in his administration.

2. Trump's inexperience in politics caused him to take advice from some people on appointments that were horrible and that I believed were horrible at the time he made them in his first year. He has since sent most of those bad eggs packing. One of the worst was someone who Trump considered to be a friend -- Gary Cohn the globalist investment banker. I knew he was bad news from the start even though he was supposedly a personal friend of Trump. Appointing Robert Wray as head of the FBI was another mistake. That advice came from Chris Christie, who is another backstabber. Wray has close ties to members of the Coup Cabal. He should have never been put in that position, and his stonewalling is proving that.

3. This same political inexperience caused him to be naive when it came to trusting holdovers in the bureaucracy who have regularly leaked sensitive information useful to his political enemies. Many of those have also been shut down.

4. I don't believe in federal government subsidies of any kind -- for any company or for any individual. Any continuation or expansion of welfare, food stamps, or corporate welfare does not meet with my approval no matter who or what party from which it originates.

From an overall policy and program standpoint -- foreign and domestic -- I agree with probably 99% of what he has done.

So now, I've outlined this again, and hopefully for the last time.
I think that some people here react to your perceived opinion that if it's Trump, it must be good.
It would behoove you not to try to align yourself or speak for the CBoS. They can't even articulate their own positions in a coherent manner. The CBoS think anything done by Trump is ALWAYS BAD. You do not think that way. The CBoS are some of the most intellectually dishonest characters I've ever run across. Hence, my main reason for ignoring most of them almost all the time.

McCain and McRomney both lost because they were milktoast GOPe Mush unwilling to fight for the job and to fight for Americans. McRomney couldn't even defend his own wealth. He ran from it -- as if being wealthy is somehow evil. As a result, Republicans stayed home rather than vote for either of them.

During the Republican primaries in 2016, Trump received more votes as a Republican candidate than any Republican in the history of the primaries. It was no fluke. The weak Republican establishment and Bayrack's overreach in office is what gave us Trump.

You make this too easy. You really should put down the shovel. You are buried in emotion, and you have an obsession with me and all of my posts. I know. You don't care.

Next time you might try to do some research at the source: The web site of the Secretary of State and the public schedule. Damn ...
Secretary Pompeo is on travel to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, India, Japan, and the Republic of Korea from June 23–30.

A few of them suffer from Dunning-Kruger syndrome. The same knowledge and intelligence that they lack in their weak and clownish responses is the same level of knowledge and intelligence necessary for them to identify their weakness of not responding well or coherently. As a result, they will always repeat the weak clownishness and remain oblivious to their shortcomings.

In other words, they overestimate their skills and abilities and don't have the skill and ability to realize it. Quite sad.
Doodoo better. I know. You don't care.

Its has been reported "Gallup reports that Immigration is now the most pressing concern for voters at 23%. That's the highest it has ever been since it showed up on Gallup's radar in 1993 -- during BJ Clinton's time in office."

Once again a true statement but not the whole statement, wouldn't you know it

Here is the remainder

"Notably, two-thirds of Americans who identify immigration as the most important problem still believe it is a good thing for the country.

Democrats (87%) are much more likely than Republicans (62%) to say immigration is a good thing, with 78% of independents holding that view."

Even I believe that immigration is good for the country. The fact that most Americans believe this is not astounding.

LEGAL Immigration.

Most LIBs conflate illegal aliens with legal immigrants in order to push their anti-nationalist, xenophobic, racist narrative. Immigrants are legal. Aliens are illegal. It's not surprising that the CBoS are fooled by it.

Not so. Aliens can be legal (green card holders) or illegal (criminals who entered outside legal channels, or overstayed).

Like any other country in the world -- these illegals are criminals who have committed a crime.
