Re: Democrats, Republicans and Elections
They are slowly, how to put it, giving up, fed up. GOP Rep. Mike Conaway Of Texas Announces Retirement After 15 Years In Congress The 5th Republican to pull the pin in 2 weeks
As The Hill’s Reid Wilson noted on Tuesday, House Republicans ― now in the minority for the first time in eight years ― are concerned that a “massive wave of retirements” could undermine their chances of winning back their majority in Congress in 2020.
“We are in the minority. That is never much fun in the House,” a senior Republican member of Congress told Wilson, speaking anonymously. “The odds are against us retaking the majority.”
Where there is smoke there is usually Fire!

Democrat controlled cities just keep digging their holes deeper. The only way to help these cities is for the voters to finally open their eyes. The federal government can do nothing except continue to throw money at corrupt city governments.
Re: Democrats, Republicans and Elections
Absolutely correct.
That's why there are three levels of government -- federal, state and municipal. While there may be some crossovers and overlap in different areas, the states and cities all have authority and responsibilities SEPARATE from the federal government. It's in the US Constitution and in the individual state constitutions and municipal codes.

To the extent to which his record in office conforms to pre-electoral promises, Trump’s record has been the best of any U.S. president since Calvin Coolidge
Doodoo makes a salient point about Black being up Trump, and/or vice versa - strong enough for me not to bother.

Absolutely correct oh Lectori Salutem
So why is the Golden Fleece wasting his time on little old Baltimore and not dealing with issues like When will the Mexcians cough up some oney for THE WALL or Where is the evidence promised about shooting down an Iranian Drone, or what Nuclear Missles Who Flung Dung( if it was such a hoopla before why not now), OR?
The List could go on and on
But when you have problems create a Deflection so they are looking at a problem i.e. Baltimore while the real issue is somewhere else waiting
What could it be?

Re: Democrats, Republicans and Elections
Maryland's 7th District -- the one represented by Elijah Cummings is exactly how Trump described it.
Today, Dr. Ben Carson, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development went to Baltimore and invited Rep. Elijah Cummings to go with him. Cummings refused. Telling.
These cities represent the Democrat philosophy of governance and society at the local level: Chicago - Los Angeles - New York - Washington, D.C. - San Francisco - Detroit - Philadelphia - Cleveland - Baltimore - Denver, etc.
How could a Democrat ever be trusted to run the country based on this massive failure at the municipal level?

The Trolls always attack something or someone and ignore the facts.
Conrad Black nailed it here:
Like LIBs, all they've got left is GET TRUMP.
Conrad Black nailed it here:
All of that TRUMProgress is factual, but the Trolls focus on the author istead of refuting what the author has stated. Trolls have to post something just to get a post in, and they've already stated that they don't care if it's nonsense or that they're wrong.. . .
Trump promised prosperity, tax cuts, renegotiation of disadvantageous trade deals, the annihilation of ISIL, the establishment of a southern border that would control entry to the country, the shaping up of the military, revival of the concept of nuclear non-proliferation regarding Iran and North Korea, withdrawal from the inane and self-punitive Paris Climate accord, a resuscitation of education through non-unionized schools and incentives to the reintroduction of free speech in academia and the end of NATO’s condition as a gang of defenceless freeloaders (such as Canada), generously accepting a military guaranty of their territory by the United States without paying for it.
The fact that he has delivered wholly or partially on all of this is, to borrow a phrase from one of the great charlatans ever elected to U.S. national office, Al Gore, “an inconvenient truth” that the conventional media of the Western world have great difficulty acknowledging. The Canadian media would have to be scrutinized by a veritable Sherlock Holmes to unearth the facts that the United States now has 1.6 million more positions to be filled than unemployed people, that per capita GDP growth has tripled, the economic growth rate is more than three times that of the European Union, more than 50 per cent above the Obama record, and that working- and middle-class income and purchasing power are growing for the first time this millennium.
Like LIBs, all they've got left is GET TRUMP.

Lonesome Sid reported "Today, Dr. Ben Carson, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development went to Baltimore and invited Rep. Elijah Cummings to go with him. Cummings refused. Telling."
Doodoo reported "Cummings was invited to the press conference with Carson, however, he declined. Carson said he thought Cummings couldn’t change a prior engagement last minute."
So Carson admitted the invite was at the Last Moment which was an honourable thing to admit to.
Where as the other reporting is leaning to the point that Cummings just declined. Making him look like a truely disrespectful person and not wanting to deal with the issue
Where have I seen this kind of reporting before where the story is twisted
People dont have to worry about Getting Trump, Others are doing it for him

Dr. Carson's press conference in Baltimore.
In his own words about why Rep. Cummings didn't attend - 10:00 minute mark of the video:
"I have no idea. I suspect he could not alter his schedule that quickly. That would be my suspicion."
Whether a congressional district is under so much media and public scrutiny or not, the first duty of a congressional representative is his/her district. Difficult to understand what would be more important for Rep. Cummings.

Re: Democrats, Republicans and Elections
I personally never watch the debates, be they Democrat or Republican, as they are mostly catch phrase statement meant to increase the specific candidates standing. I also ignore the far right and far left supposedly "News" channels of FOX and MSNBC. I prefer to read about the issues, the candidates standings on the issues, and decide which candidate deserves my vote. I will add that if the Democrats hope to beat the Trumpster they need to to stay away from the extremest Sanders, Harris and Warren. These three will turn off the moderate voters who will then stay away from the polls, thus handing the election to the Trumpster.
Re: Democrats, Republicans and Elections
Yep. Kinda hard to pick a competent candidate with this amount of time speaking. Voters have to do research, which they're not likely to do.
Uncle Joe had the most time, but he struggled and did not improve from the first debate. In fact, he might've been worse.

Re: Will Trump make the Grade.
President Trump made the grade because:
He defeated Hillary Clinton which has slowed the ultimate takeover of the U.S. government by the Post Modernist/Neo-Marxist totalitarian socialists.
His winning the presidency has exposed the criminal and malicious nature of many U.S. government offices and agents. It is currently providing the U.S. public with clear proof that their government will ignore all state crimes, no matter how extreme and damaging, and never punish any government agent offenders.

Doesn't the Moron-in-Chief know that trying to win a trade war with China is going to end up
destroying the very thing he supposedly is trying to save. China will never give in and will just
simply wait him out. Not saying China is a fair trader, but you'll never beat them this way.
The US is lucky they haven't dumped all their trillions of US TBills
