UK Ministry of Defense announces that the Royal Navy will escort British-flagged vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

The Royal Navy has been tasked to accompany British-flagged ships through the strait of Hormuz, either individually or in groups, should sufficient notice be given of their passage. Freedom of navigation is crucial for the global trading system and world economy and we will do all we can to defend it.

with the frigate that was enroute to the gulf that should put two British warships there. Hardly enough to herd every Brit flagged ship through the Strait of Hormuz. The Brits will have to get a coalition of western navies (the Americans are already there) to provide additional ships and quickly.

Way back in 2015, there were reports that Israel had successfully invaded Iran's airspace with the F-35 Adir -- a modified version of the F-35. During this particular mission, the Israelis flew to Iran and back without refueling. They circled major cities and military bases while taking surveillance photos the entire time. All of this completed without being detected by Iran's radar or their Russian missiles.

It's a rumor, but is now showing up in Western media reports even more now since Iran fired the head of their air force.

Whether it's true or not, it creates doubt in the minds of Iran, and it reinforces the idea that Iran has lost quite a bit of stroke in the region. The sanctions have weakened Iran and disrupted their financing of chaos abroad. Now Iran needs to wonder if Israel and the US and any allies already know how to launch a quick strike to take out the mullahs and key targets in a matter of days.

And let's get real here. Iran's comedy of dinky speedboats in the Strait of Hormuz already shows that Iran is very likely pretty damn weak. Even the people of Iran sense it.

So sending ships to the gulf may take some doing .

Economy in Iran sliding south quickly.

Iran is changing their currency from the rial to the toman -- and deleting four zeroes from the value. Iran's Central Bank made the announcement this week. Both currency names have been used in Iran's history.

Iran blamed the US for hurting their currency value and causing spiking inflation. I guess the sanctions are working.

The World Bank predicted a 1.9% reduction in Iran's GDP, but it fell 4.9%. There has also been over 75% reduction in Iran's oil exports. Inflation in Iran hit a record high of 48%. These economic declines have also hampered Iran's ability to fund terrorist activities.
