.

0.00006% of the US population is comprised of those sick enough to involve themselves in mass shootings.

That means that 99.99994% don't participate.

Firearm deaths per year, that include suicide and accidents are at 0.01% of the population.

That means that 99.99% don't participate.

America is still the home of lawful, law-abiding gun owners who don't deserve to have their rights taken from them for the transgressions of a few. There will be other ways for evil people to harm others. Evil cannot be regulated -- only punished when caught.

I knew some of that. I see the sole African-American Republican in the House of Representatives isn't going to be hanging around. That's shocking that the Republicans might have none.

The mainstream American media is one of the principal institutions that make the country great. Trump's customary remarks about the American media are contemptible. As is his mutual love in with Fox News. Traditionally the US President has been a supporter of a free press worldwide. It's a shame Trump doesn't continue that tradition.

In my country we have way too many non-law abiding firearms owners. Too frequently the firearms aren't properly stored in the manner prescribed by law. Those twits shouldn't have firearms at all. It's a privilege and not a right to have a firearm here. Thank Buddha.

.

Poll numbers starting to come in on those in the middle -- Independent voters -- the ones who will ultimately decide the election. National polls on specific issues are pretty reliable -- unlike national polls on candidates, since presidential elections are decided state-by-state, not the national popular vote.

The latest is from the Harvard/Harris Poll, which surveyed 2,214 registered American voters online between July 31 and August 1.

In their poll, Independents favored closing the border by 69% to both LEGAL immigrants and illegal aliens. They stated that they were less likely to vote for any 2020 presidential candidate who supported open borders on any level.

Even 45% of Democrats polled said they were unlikely to support a candidate that backs the increase in any form of immigration -- legal or illegal.

Another poll conducted by NPR/PBS found that even "moderate" Democrats reject open borders and more legal immigration. A plurality of 47% also said that free health care to illegal aliens is a non starter for them. Almost 60% of Democrats said that decriminalizing illegal border crossings is a bad idea.

ALL of the Democrat front-runners for president are on the opposite side of all of these issues.

Democrats had a simple task for the 2020 election. Be productive in the House and not look crazier than Trump in their proposed policies and programs. That was a very low bar to meet, and so far, they haven't been able to do it. Democrats are spending all their time to GET TRUMP will phony investigations in the House. They're ignoring the border and putting together more loony policy ideas than even the screeching moonbat loon, Oc-Co Loco, could dream up.

If Democrats can't win the middle -- the Independent voter -- they can't win.

The characteristic that is prevalent in almost all of the mass shootings is mental health, not guns. If crazies want to kill a lot of people, they'll use a car or a bomb if guns aren't available.

The other big issue is that people are afraid to report what they see and know and is suspicious for fear of backlash over privacy from people who may be dangerous. So they look out only for themselves and crazies go unreported.

DiGenova also talks SpyGate.

Dr. Carol Swain returns to give a lesson on Republicans -- the party of Lincoln and anti-slavery. Republicans spearheaded the abolitionist movement.

The Girandoni .457 caliber rifle with a 20-round magazine was developed in 1779, which is 12 years before the writing of the 2nd Amendment.

The 2nd Amendment wasn't just about one-shot muskets. It was always about protection against a tyrannical government.

Trump and the US didn't start this. Trump is the first one with the balls to correct it.
Absolutely true. Imagine the gap between the US and the rest of the slackjawed hangers-on if we didn't have to carry their gear for 50 years.

MORE Stores closing Does this mean the consumer has no faith in economy or is it TARIFFS???

Finance
More store closings coming: An estimated 12,000 shops could close by the end of 2019
Reporting TARIFFS are the primary cause DAMN

"A separate analysis by UBS said tariffs on Chinese imports could put $40 billion of sales and 12,000 stores at risk.

“The market is not realizing how much brick & mortar retail is incrementally struggling and how new 25% tariffs could force widespread store closures,” UBS analyst Jay Sole wrote in the May report. "We think potential 25% tariffs on Chinese imports could accelerate pressure on these company’s profit margins to the point where major store closures become a real possibility.”
The extra costs had to play havoc at some point
