MORE Stores closing Does this mean the consumer has no faith in economy or is it TARIFFS???

Finance
More store closings coming: An estimated 12,000 shops could close by the end of 2019
Reporting TARIFFS are the primary cause DAMN

"A separate analysis by UBS said tariffs on Chinese imports could put $40 billion of sales and 12,000 stores at risk.

“The market is not realizing how much brick & mortar retail is incrementally struggling and how new 25% tariffs could force widespread store closures,” UBS analyst Jay Sole wrote in the May report. "We think potential 25% tariffs on Chinese imports could accelerate pressure on these company’s profit margins to the point where major store closures become a real possibility.”
The extra costs had to play havoc at some point
Brick and morter shopping outlets have been suffering for a while because of on line shopping .

All predictions.

All Cheerleaders cheer alike
Cant see walking into not just a company BUT any compnay and asking to see their predictions on sales and they saying "Oh we dont have one because we dont know what will happen" Its one major part of business to look into teh future
Once again an indication of lack of planning and not knowing how a business runs
Just emotional input as to WHO wrote it

One day -- 3%. It might go down some more, but it's not going to destroy the economy. Destroying optimism and sentiment is more destructive, and the media is doing their best to paint this as the worst event in the history of modern man. GET TRUMP.

Keep wishing. It'll bite you and/or your country in the a55 if you get your wish. It affected markets worldwide.

By manipulating their currency to avoid tariffs, they're helping their Chinese manufacturers, but they're also helping US consumers.
Wall Street rebounds in 24 hours because Main Street is strong.

The sell-off is believed to have little to do with China's currency manipulation and everything to do with The Fed not committed to doing what's best for the economy. Powell is another poor choice made by Trump, and he knows it.

Democrats had a simple task for the 2020 election. Be productive in the House and not look crazier than Trump in their proposed policies and programs. That was a very low bar to meet, and so far, they haven't been able to do it. Democrats are spending all their time to GET TRUMP will phony investigations in the House. They're ignoring the border and putting together more loony policy ideas than even the screeching moonbat loon, Oc-Co Loco, could dream up.
Now House Democrats are doing another do-over. GET KAVANAUGH off the Supreme Court. That stunt's first go-round cost them seats in the Senate.

When Dems go radical, Independent voters run the other way.

Democrats are the undisputed Champions of Unintended Consequences.

.

Yes, Biden is "sleepy" and stupid.

Yesterday he announced his first-day priorities as POTUS (which he will never be).

1. Repeal President Donald Trump’s tax reform law.
The dummy will need Congress to do this. The Senate won't play along. This will hurt the middle class -- doubly.

2. Close billions in dollars worth of tax loopholes.
He said he'd do this for better use of tax revenue, but never said what. Another time, he said it would be used to dump into Medicaid, the US version of public health care for individuals who cannot afford it. Yes, the US has had Medicaid (federal public health care) for DECADES. So this LIB nonsense about not caring for people is blown up with sh*t all over their faces again. This will hurt the middle class.

3. Sign climate change-focused executive orders.
Useless political nonsense that will contain no measurable results.

4. Rejoin the Paris Climate Accord.
Giving away more Americans' tax revenue to liars in the world.

5. Make all DREAMers legal in the United States.
To hell with American Dreamers. Gotta take care of ILLEGALS. According to recent very UNBIASED poll sources, this is a killer for almost half of Democrats, almost all Republicans and an almost 2/3 majority of Independents. He'll need Congress for that, too. The courts have already ruled that Obama's stunt with DACA was unconstitutional.

Honorable Mention: Make LGBT rights his first legislative priority.
Huh? The Constitution bestows the same rights upon everyone -- already.

So there you have it. Damage the economy, take more money from wage earners, sink trillions into pie-in-the-sky plans that have no measurable result and take care of illegal aliens.

This is the Dem front runner who is supposed to be the MODERATE and looking out for the little guy. 55555

You didn't comprehend very well what I posted. You're pulling another straw man argument against a claim that I did NOT make.
. . . and everything to do with The Fed not committed to doing what's best for the economy. Powell is another poor choice made by Trump, and he knows it.
Your assumptions are unfounded.

The Fed exists to create balance, and if they signal that they may not do it -- which is the gobbledygook message that Powell sent in his last announcement -- the markets get shaky. I said Powell was a bad choice to head The Fed. I did NOT say that he was required to be loyal to Trump. Powell is required to be loyal to doing what's best for the American economy. Of those who I have read about and viewed speaking on this issue, their criticism of Powell was that he did not state unequivocably that The Fed would do what's necessary to keep the economy strong. He was wishy-washy, which has created uncertainty. Uncertainty is not good for the markets. However the VIX is in positive territory today, which means that some unwarranted and panicked uncertainty over the selloff yesterday has waned.

I don't mean anything more, and I don't mean anything less. I was very specific in my first post regarding this, and now I've said it again and elaborated to be even more clear.

All you ever have to do is read closely what I post. I try to be very specific, and I am usually very specific and detailed -- which goes far beyond the one sentence and two-line trolling of others.

By now you should realize that my opinions are usually based on what I know or have experienced or possess some decent knowledge. You don't have to agree with it, you may not like it; but it's not nonsense, and I can almost always articulate my position clearly.

Business
Taking in Just $70 a Day, Trump’s GM Plant Savior Is in Trouble

4500 GM jobs maybe GONE

"During a July 2017 rally in nearby Youngstown, Trump told supporters “don’t move, don’t sell your house,” because his administration would bring jobs back and fill up the area’s factories. But by November of last year, GM announced plans to stop production, costing Lordstown the last of the roughly 4,500 direct jobs the plant provided just a few years ago."

But they can uproot their families and move

It would behoove those who want to dabble in US politics and the gun issue to read up on the process for amending the Constitution. Do some research.

Even if an amendment is written, it doesn't guarantee anything other than the fact that the amendment is written. The states must then ratify the amendment, which takes YEARS. In the long run, it may not be ratified by the required number of states -- 75% of the states. That numbers 38 states out of 50. Ain't gonna happen. All you've got to do is list 13 states that won't do it, and it's over, done, finished.

From July 12, and there are posts of mine that go back even further that outline Democrat "plans" to make America a Sh*thole.

If ANY Democrat comes up with a plan that would improve the lives of ALL Americans and be supported by the MAJORITY of WORKING Americans -- without penalizing another group of Americans, there is a good chance that I would support the plan, but would probably never support the candidate unless there was something in their history that showed them to use common sense and an understanding of economics.

Washington Post:
The polls say Trump is beatable, but it will take a strong, sensible campaign that can pull voters in the middle, where this race will be won or lost.
Which one is sensible?

Leftists can't pull Americans in the middle TO the middle without lying to them.

There is no "middle" candidate running for president among Democrats. Middle would be an American who defends the Constitution, promotes Free Enterprise and nurtures Individual Liberty. None of them defend ALL of the Constitution and believe in enforcing our laws. ALL of them reject the free market and want to regulate it and manipulate it. ALL of them expect Americans to throw off their Individual Liberty and sacrifice for the collective -- forced charity putting the individual last, which harms their personal plans and their families.

The Democrat candidates are left of center OR far left of center. They can't pull the middle if they're all left of the middle.

Which one of these ideas is "middle"? I would bet lots of money that each one of them causes a block of voters to run for the hills and vote Trump.

- Open borders
- abortion up to birth
- 700% increase in refugees (Warren's recent declaration)
- eliminate private health insurance
- illegal aliens and 16 year olds voting
- felons voting in prison
- sanctuary cities and states
- gun confiscation
- rescind the tax cuts for everyone (Bernie and others)
- Medicare for all, which makes it Medicare for none
- abolish ICE and Homeland Security
- GET TRUMP
- Wealth tax
- Green New Deal (now revealed as an economic transformation)
- Increasing the national debt
- No ideas for more and better jobs
- Restarting ObamaCare (Sleepy Joe)
- Etc.

None of the ideas are "middle", and none of the candidates are middle. Big problems.

They have to continue to hope that the economy slows and goes south to have any chance. The irony of that is a poor economy will NEVER support any of their big money ideas. Notice that NONE of them have any ideas to make the job market bigger and better. It's all about the government taking tax revenue and giving it away.
It's not about disliking Democrats for the sake of being Democrats. It's their philosophy. It sucks. It isn't American.

The Troll needs to do a better job of keeping up.

The weakest wage-growth states during the Obama years have bounced back with soaring incomes under Trump's MAGAnomics.

The Pew Research Center released data that shows Alabama, Arizona, Iowa, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico and West Virginia are enjoying major gains in income growth since Trump.

WV - 1.3% wage growth under Obama / 4.3% wage growth under Trump
NV - 1.6% wage growth under Obama / 3.5% wage growth under Trump
AZ - 1.8% wage growth under Obama / 3.3% wage growth under Trump

Those are the best examples.

Yes, it's STEADY WINNING.
Are these soaring, Trumpian numbers based on an analysis of the entire eight 'Obama years' or just the perpetually and predictably rubbish second term, lame duck, four years?

Reuters Poll (post debate)
Biden 22% ... sleepy slippage
Bernie 18% ... looking better because of energy, nothing else
Warren 8% ... Pocahontas slippage
Kamasutra 6% ... BIG slippage ... off the bed and on the floor
Saint Butti 4% ... no traction at all and no minority support

The rest don't matter.

"It's not about disliking Democrats for the sake of being Democrats. It's their philosophy. It sucks." Double Talk

If your a Democrat you therefore believe in the philospohy of the Democrats. It certainly isnt the philosophy of the Republicans Therefore dislike prevails

"It isn't American." I most certainly hope it isnt someone here on Udonmap who would say it is or isnt
To say "it isnt American" what qualifications does one have to have to be a judge in this catagory??
