Does not mean a lot untill you can get China on board , and i fear thats not going to happen anytime soon .
Chinas trade with Iran is booming , thanks mainly to sanctions .

No wonder the Cheerleaders love Iran. They both double down on losing efforts.
Iran's president took his opportunity at the UNGA to blame everyone else for the problems of Iran. He lashed out at the US and all US allies. He warned them that peace will only be achieved by submitting to Iran's demands.
Rouhani threatened the EU for not providing expected benefits from the nuclear deal. He also complained about terrorists attacking Yemen, Syria, and other countries where Iran proxies are located. All deflections from Iran's efforts at instability in the region.
Rhouhani also accused the current US administration of supporting ISIS.
Just more evidence of the world's largest state sponsor of terror being in denial.
Since the EU finally gets it, the current regime in Iran is now on a path to self-destruction.

The bad actors are on notice."We are imposing sanctions on certain Chinese firms for knowingly engaging in a significant transaction for the transport of oil from Iran, including knowledge of sanctionable conduct, contrary to U.S. sanctions.

""The additional sanctions represent the highest level of sanctions ever imposed on any country."
There cant be many sanctions left to impose. Exactly what are these sanctions and which ones are left? We are never told all we get is SANCTIONS are being Imposed"
Once again SANCTIONS are the same as "reported by an unnamed source" Words Words Words

Re: Finally Some One with a Pair of Balls
If China really worried about any sanctions what so ever , they would of done a trade deal before now .
So why does the U S think sanctions will make any difference to them trading with Iran ?
They are doing very nicely out of the sanctions imposed by the west . I do find it ironic that the Chinese are helping a fundamental Islamic regime , whist at the same time doing everything in their power, legal or otherwise to keep their very own Muslims in check . All the time sanctions are imposed , China is getting stronger .
Wasnt it Einstein who said madness was doing the same thing over and over , expecting a different result .

Re: Finally Some One with a Pair of Balls
Not even Communist China government-controlled media would agree with that.
All that we know indicates China is in its worst economic position in at least 3 decades. And that's only what they allow their media to tell us.
The CCP can't stick their neck out too far to buy oil from Iran. Their economy isn't even strong enough to help German industry and exports.

Exactly . They allow their media to publish what they want you to believe , does not make it fact though .Lone Star wrote: ↑September 27, 2019, 9:26 amNot even Communist China government-controlled media would agree with that.

Maybe they are just stringing the U S along , making them think they are struggling , when in actual fact they are not .
For a struggling economy , they are still investing heavily in other countries , including Iran .
Re: Finally Some One with a Pair of Balls
No one doubts that. They're trying to hold on until the election and hope Trump is defeated. If they were strong, they wouldn't have to negotiate at all. They'd sit home and keep chugging along successfully.
A few weeks ago, a China spox said, "We will fight to the end and never give up." Winners never have to say things like that. Those falling behind usually say those things.
This thread isn't about China. This is about Iran, so I will suspend my discussion of China alone. I've provided sufficient information in another thread to support China's weaknesses.
If Iran was sufficiently propped up by fair-weather allies, they wouldn't be acting out against the rest of the world. Their economy and currency is in the toilet. Their society is in turmoil. They have lost any small advantage that they had with the EU due to their threats and bad neighbor policy. They are still the bad neighbor of the Middle East.

What proof would you have making this statement? Before you answer that ALL Politicians lie when will you understand, you wont. Remeber Donny averages 13 times a day

I am continually amazed how you can report on issues as if you were/are there, actually there or have a direct link just like the Israelis do, to the source
Awesome
You should be on Trimps staff in teh Oval Office not wasting your time here in Thailand

Further sanctions leveled against Iran.
Statement from the White House:
Further sanctions leveled against Iran.
Statement from the White House:
Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State:The Government of Iran is a state sponsor of terrorism, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, including its Qods Force, supports terrorists and directly engages in terrorism. Iran arbitrarily detains United States citizens. The Iranian regime contributes to humanitarian crises, threatens its neighbors, threatens international shipping, and conducts destructive cyberattacks.
Given that this behavior threatens peace and stability in the Middle East and beyond, I have determined that it is in the interest of the United States to take action to restrict and suspend the entry into the United States, as immigrants or nonimmigrants, of senior government officials of Iran, and their immediate family members.
Finally, someone with a pair of balls. We want peace and we want a peaceful resolution. In the end, it will be up to the Iranians to make that decision whether they choose violence and hate.

Re: Finally Some One with a Pair of Balls
My view is that Iran is skating on thin ice at present! what with, ceasing oil tankers in the gulf and in all likelihood, being involved to some degree in the attacks on Saudi Aramco, (if not being fully responsible for them). Patience is wearing thin with several neighboring countries.
There are several neighboring countries, watching with interest, that will give the US sanctions time. to see if they bite and so pull Iran into line, that's the political approach.
However, when their patience runs out or the moment it can be shown that Iran is getting too close to their nuclear objective or when Iran can be proven to be responsible for the attacks on Saudi Aramco or when they try the same again, these countries will act decisively against Iran, provided the US gives them the all clear to do so. The EU and the UN, will have no say in what they do.
Just my 2 cents worth

......... yep, and unfortunately not a single fuckiing brain cell.
Remember how this started folks, and who unilaterally tore up the Agreement.
It won't be too many days before they roll in Colin Powell, complete with his slide show. After all, Trump desperately requires a diversion from his big, big troubles at home.
ps I can well imagine Morrison, the Oz PM, has already left his dick in Trump's pocket before he departed Washington.
Re: Finally Some One with a Pair of Balls

Remember how deals work between multiple countries, folks.
Just because one country withdraws doesn't mean the deal is torn up.
Trump also withdrew from the TPP trade agreement. Trump also withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord. Neither of those withdrawals prevented those two agreements from continuing. The other countries are still in them. The US still trades bilaterally in the Pacific, and the US still meets their climate and emissions goals.
If the US left NATO tomorrow, NATO would still exist without the US. Or NATO could choose to fold. Up to them.
The same is true for the Iran Deal.
Trump didn't tear up anything. Trump withdrew the US from a nonbinding agreement made between Obama and Iran. The agreement is not a US treaty and was not approved by Congress. There were "side deals" made by Obama and Kerry that were never made public or even known by all of Congress (no transparency). It was learned AFTER the deal that the Obama Administration actually lied about portions of the deal. All facts.
Here's another fact from an Obama guy: According to Jarrett Blanc of the Obama administration, since the JCPOA is not a treaty but an agreement between several countries, it has no formal provisions for withdrawal, but a member of the deal could stop complying with its obligations. In summary, if Congress thought it was a good deal, Obama could have brought it before them and had it ratified. Bayrack did it unilaterally because he knew there was no stomach for it (there were also portions that Obama didn't want revealed). Like so many other unilateral things that Obama did during his his 8 years in office, almost all have gone away in the last 2+ years.
The Iran Deal still exists, but does not include the US. The other countries are still in the deal. It's up to the other countries to make it good -- or not -- or withdraw. It's also up to Iran to make it good -- or not -- or withdraw. Iran could solve the entire thing immediately by being a good neighbor and stopping to enrich uranium completely. Why doesn't Iran be a good neighbor and be nice with those remaining in the deal and change their bad neighbor terrorizing ways? Nothing stops them from making that good choice -- but Iran.
Anyone who blames the US for Iran acting like the lying terrorizing a55es that they've always been, doesn't have a f*cking brain cell. If Iran wanted peace -- and could be trusted -- there would be peace. If they weren't the lying terrorizing a55es that they were BEFORE the deal, there would have never been any reason for the deal.
There is no great motivation for the world community to worry about nice countries. Iran is not a nice country.

The E3 found their cajones at the UNGA and accused Iran of the attacks on Saudi Arabia and called for a new deal to include additional restrictions. That was a huge step for the E3.
Add Iran's threats against the EU during the UNGA, and I think the EU is just about ready to tell Iran "GFY." Macron stuck his scrawny little neck out for Iran, and they've acted like the lying a55es we've always known them to be.
Iran is losing what little leverage they enjoyed with the EU.
