Good Samaritan, Udon
Good Samaritan, Udon
They're out there.....despite what a lot of people think
Pretty much every day there's reports of found phones, wallets, clothing, etc.
Today.......a wallet with 6000 baht.

There are plenty of thieves also. We have a farm off the electric grid. I installed a solar power system there. I had four deep cycle batteries in the small house. In the past couple of days the thieves broke out a window and managed to steal two of the four batteries. Those batteries are heavy and no doubt they could carry only two of them. That same farm has a fish pond that was stocked and the fish were being fed. They managed to net most of the fish out. People wonder why I have security cameras at the house, that's why.
Correction. The thieves stole all four batteries. My wife thought I had two batteries there, but there were four. Now no batteries.
They got the 1,000 watt inverter also.
And a fan gone. Apparently they didn't want the old TV and satellite box.

Several years ago the village bought solar powered street lights. A couple weeks later thieves had stolen the batteries out of more than half the lights on the edges of the village. They still have not replaced the stolen batteries.

Thanks parrot.... always good to hear another positive story about life in Udon Thani/Thailand.
Those with a different experience(s) could always start a new thread to relate their experience(s), instead of polluting this one.
They would no doubt get plenty of the resident disaffected whingers piling in.

I've seen numerous acts of kindness to others from Thais who don't have a lot of money or goodies to share around. I see the Thais as a generous people. Like any country, they have their ratbags too.

I guess some people are argumentative no matter what the issue is.

Don't you have a small house on an off-grid farm somewhere near a village that has no street lighting that needs watching for burglars?glalt wrote: ↑December 3, 2019, 8:06 pmOne the main polluters and haters is YOU. Left my B3000 Tilly LTM8 AIRFLO® MESH hat I have had for years at the massage shop to the left of Good Corner, walked around the corner for a shave then to several bars for a short snort, then to Central for late lunch, got outside walk back to room , forgot where I left it, nevermind, 5 days later walked passed massage shop to have breakfast at Good corner about lunch time, girl from massage saw me and gave my hat back, I loved my hat, got a foot massage and gave her a 200 tip.
