I think " eschew" would have been more apt.

I doubt if I'll ever get used to seeing tattoos on anyone. I grew up in an era when the only people that wore tatts were drunken sailors, thugs and motorcycle gangsters. I have a tendency now to shy away from people wearing tatts, and for me is represents a lack of good judgement, common sense and character. The irony is that I have a 38 year old son who I raised till age 5 when his mother and I divorced, and he is covered with tatts from lower neck to ankles yet he is a fine family man who owns a very successful business in California. I haven't seen him in 10 years, but I still feel very disappointed when he sends me photos of himself. It's hard for an old guy like me to make a paradigm shift and accept tatts as normal.

So, not to stray too far off topic, bargirls getting tatts demonstrates the persuasive power of peer pressure just to mention one of many reasons.

after reading all this tattoo news i am coming at another question , if we see a mia falang with tattoo(s) is this meaning she formerly worked in bars ?,and got picked up there ?....easy to guess some ones former employment? ...
