He's Back
Re: He's Back
No doubt there'll be lots of people doing laps around the monument.....payment for wishes come true.
When I was young, my father would do the sign of the cross on his forehead whenever he passed a Catholic church. I've seen many a Thai pass by the statue and do a polite wai of respect to the Prince. Same same, but different.

Thank goodness the Prince landed safely, possibly in spite of those managing it! Can you just imagine the doom and gloom predicted for Udon in the New Year, if there had been a mishap?

It would probably have been safer not to talk about it, if you value your freedom.Brian Davis wrote: ↑December 25, 2019, 3:19 pmThank goodness the Prince landed safely, possibly in spite of those managing it! Link doesn't apply as far as I can tell, of course wiki might have left out who all law applies to.jackspratt wrote: ↑December 25, 2019, 7:56 pmhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%C3%A8se ... n_Thailand

A light-hearted comment about a statue. If I was disciplined for that, then common sense really has gone out the window here. Incidentally, I have been and really enjoy the massive turnout of orange when locals do pay respect. But, having now read some of the Wiki examples, I can understand Jack's post.
