Anyone flown their Dog with Thai Smile
Anyone flown their Dog with Thai Smile
Hi All,
Does anyone have experience with taking their dog on Thai smile from Udon to Bangkok?
Normally most airlines allow dogs to be transported as excess baggage but can't find any info on Thai Smiles policy.
As a back up anyone done the same on any of the Udon to Don Muang flights?
Thanks.

There was a lady collecting her pooch from the baggage handlers in Udon last time we flew in on Thai Smile. I expect they would fly the other way too
Age & treachery will always triumph over youth & ability
Re: Anyone flown their Dog with Thai Smile
good to know. I've never seen any dogs in Udon airport over the years.

I checked recently for an elderly Thai neighbour.
Go to the Thai air website not Thai smile and maybe get more details.
I remember there was a list of 20 or more breeds that can’t fly.

Going Backto 1995 I Flew my Dog from The U.K On Finnair MAN-BKK-UTH.( Cost a LOT more than My Ticket 400 GBP & That was just for My Dog ( Corgi ),All was O.K .....Until we arrived at UTH When We were told that My Dog was in the Freight Shed & I Had to go upstairs in the Airport to some Office, Where we were met by 4 Guys ( PRI*KS ) In Uniform who said they Would NOT Release the dog until THEY had been given " A Cup of Tea " Long Story but it ended up me having to pay 5,000 Baht to EACH of them ( 20,000 Baht ) Or My Dog wouldn't be coming in with Us.....They Would just let Her STARVE !!! ( BASTA*DS !!!! )
BTW...We had ALL the Correct medical forms / Clearance for Her.....
The Flight from DMK to UTH Was on Thai ( TG12 ) At the Time.....

Thanks all for your experiences.
I've got a quote from a specialist pet relocation service for the fees from BKK to Doha at 47,000 baht plus 12,000 baht for the medical certificate. Waiting for an additional quote if they collect her in Udon and not Bangkok.
Dog only cost us 1,500 baht

I flew 3 dogs(pups) with Nok air last year, Udon-Bangkok. Around 700baht each time. Never a problem. Not sure about Thai Smile though.

Good to hear.
Could I ask what paperwork if any did you need? Assume you put them in the travel cages and they went into the luggage area of the plane?
If not please let me know the process.
Cheers

Re: Anyone flown their Dog with Thai Smile
I've flown with a few dogs on Thai Smile but mine just showed their ID card. Does this help?
Re: Anyone flown their Dog with Thai Smile
We checked each dog (on separate occasions) in as baggage Dean. No special documents required.
They were in small cages with water, and collected on the other end by the new owners.
The first time we did this, I wasnt happy because I was afraid they would be stressed from their flight but that was never the case.
All pups arrived happy and healthy on the other end with no signs of stress.

Re: Anyone flown their Dog with Thai Smile
Sounds about right. I bought a Jack Russell puppy on internet from Don Mueang area about 18 months ago.
Seller charged 1,000 baht to send Nok Air to Udon. Thought it was reasonable, they supplied crate, paperwork and took to airport, DMK. I collected from Udon in freight area, a little past where the old immigration was.
Puppy was fine.
