I am so proud of all us expat Udonites really getting behind and taking seriously this social distancing.

I think we have reason to be proud, so I suggest we all get together and celebrate with a community dinner, a few drinks and a Sing-a-Song at UD Town on Monday night.

No problem except I think UD Town is closed on Monday by order of the Governor.

As well the food market has been totally demolished at UD Town, major upgrade for next 6 weeks

They have just closed the food market and I was told by the woman who has a drinks concession in there that there were plans to open a Top Class hotel on the site.
Would not surprise me with the China Railway under Construction ( PRIME SITE next to the Station).
You do not build a top class hotel in 1 year.

Hospitals in days hotels take a little longer although I'm sure DJT could get one built in NY ready for the govt to rent to enable doctors/nurses to stay close

That’s my mums old pub in Romford, opposite the car park and the freezer shop, Bejam or something similar, walk down towards the market and there’s a superb pie mash shop on the left, our Friday night treat.

Still missing the humour.

Too young back then, was in the early 70’s when mum was working for Ind Coope, she later moved to Whitbread and took over the Hand and Flower in Bow E3

A tad off topic, but not so far.

Health in Australia is administered at a state level, but mainly funded by the federal government. As such, there are lots of confabs bring state and federal pollies together every year. A mate of mine who was NSW Minister for Health attended one such get together in Adelaide years ago and relayed this story.

A certain Senator who was at the time Federal Minister of Youth affairs, attended this one. Well known for her rather large posterior, she was walking into a hall for an end of day dinner, behind her a small gentleman was walking besides a NSW State Minister (not my mate)

The minister observed the large derriere of the Fed lady senator, turned to the guy and said 'wow, can you imagine ****** that'? To which the small man replied 'Yes I can, that is my wife'
