Re: Maddie McCann Breakthrough.
It would be great to see this investigation finally reveal what happened to the poor bairn. Her parents were at fault for leaving her alone but they also need closure they lives too have been destroyed by this tragedy
Re: Maddie McCann Breakthrough.
Yes, and apparently it has cost tons and tons of money to keep it going so long.
Closure would be nice.
To find her alive would be better,
but unfortunately, the odds aren't very good.
Can only hope.

It doesn't look good, Aardy. German police believe she's dead.Aardvark wrote: ↑January 5, 2014, 6:55 pmI sincerely hope they can find this little Girl alive and well http://www.perthnow.com.au/lifestyle/uk ... 6795199295

Re: Maddie McCann Breakthrough.
I've waited six years for a reply to that post No proof either way at the moment. I just hope their not setting this bloke up so they can close the case instead of seeking the truth …
Re: Maddie McCann Breakthrough.
No, he hasn't been charged. He's still a suspect.choi choi wrote: ↑June 4, 2020, 9:40 pmhttps://www.thesun.co.uk/news/11782172/ ... b-germany/
German man Charged!
Re: Maddie McCann Breakthrough.
The police made a total mess of this case from the start
Running around accusing all sorts of people with no evidence

Re: Maddie McCann Breakthrough.
Considering as has been said the investigation was a complete cock-up from the beginning, with it would appear Parliamentary Approval Hundreds of thousands of pounds have been spent and naturally and eventually the Officers have to justify the expense, so a person has been identified, luckily for them he is already incarcerated so it is a win win for law Enforcement. No lengthy trial it appears and as he is already serving a sentence one or two years eiother way will not hurt him
As for Madeline sadly I really feel she is either dead or she is so unreachable due to Child trafficking that she will never be found. Well she may be alive but if you got near to her, she would be terminated and disposed of, so it is the same as dead.

Re: Maddie McCann Breakthrough.
And you dont think the yard or interpol have screwed the hooch as well
Re: Maddie McCann Breakthrough.
Admittedly, the British police have spent alot of money investigating the mystery but it's probably also quite difficult accessing the evidence when Johnny Foreigner* controls the case.
The Germans seem to have done rather a good job if they have the right man. The alleged Perp is also being interviewed over a missing German girl.

Johnny Foreigner - someone who does not enjoy the benefits of being English.

Scotland Yard could only work with what they were provided by the Portuguese police. Think of the national pride aspect, ie. same as the Koh Tao case.
Interpol aren't an investigatory entity, never have been and never will be.
Re: Maddie McCann Breakthrough.
What are the benefits of being English? The McCanns don't seem to have received many. I thought the English media had at times pointed to them as suspects.

Re: Maddie McCann Breakthrough.
INTERPOL provides investigative support, expertise, and training to law enforcement worldwide, focusing on three major areas of transnational crime: terrorism, cybercrime, and organized crime. Its broad mandate covers virtually every kind of crime, including crimes against humanity, child pornography, drug trafficking and production, political corruption, copyright infringement, and white-collar crime. The agency also facilitates cooperation among national law enforcement institutions through criminal databases and communications networks. Contrary to popular belief, INTERPOL is itself not a law enforcement agency.
Re: Maddie McCann Breakthrough.
They are actually Scots, did you not read that in the Guardian. There has always been an undercurrent of suspicion of guilt either of child abandonment or worse. Why did they think it was ok to leave a child alone in a holiday home while they go out eating and drinking?
Re: Maddie McCann Breakthrough.
That might be one reason the English media roughed them up.
I know Thai families that leave pretty young children unattended by adults for periods.
Did the McCann case have an effect on parenting in the UK? From memory I think there was a very sad case in Australia in the 1960s, the Beaumont children, that reportedly changed then Australian parenting practices. The three Beaumont children went by bus without an adult to a busy beach on Australia Day and seem to have been abducted. They were never found.
