You will need a Work Permit and I believe a Poiice Check as well , the latter I am not sure about .

...and a correct type of visa of course. Best to ask from schools. I know that some schools need teachers now. Very difficult to get from outside Thailand now.

My advice to you Udonfox, is to print out about 20 or more copies of your CV(resume)and you qualifications, and go around to all the schools in and around Udon. Most schools dont advertise so you could get lucky, and as eagle has already been pointed out,at the moment there aren't any teachers arriving in Thailand so that puts you in a stronger position.
As regards to work permit and police check, I wouldn't worry too much about that, as the school should sort out all the necessary paperwork to get your visa and work permit.

Thank you croc4. To the others, I've been teaching for twelve years, I know about work permit procedures and visa requirments, that wasn't my question. Cheers !

What schools need teachers?

Many need teachers, but the wages are paltry compared to what they get from the Government and many want you there 8 hours a day even if teaching only 2 hours.
I was re-offered a job at the same rate I was on 8 years ago, needless to say I declined , despite that they insisted that was the going rate. A tad upset when I laughed.

For the the past three years I have been teaching at International schools in Phnom Penh, plus a short spell pre virus in Riyadh. The only short term option I have is to work locally, I know the wages are low, but with a wife and three kids to support I have to take what is available.
I was just seeking a little help in my search. Nothing more, nothing less. If any one does hear something, please let me know. Much obliged.

Inquire in IP section at Udon Pitt. Go direct to IP section admin. Run by Alex (a Thai).

IP is International Program mostly taught in English. When I inquired for my child to apply as a student, they asked me if I wanted a job teaching.
