anybody got any recommendations on where to buy a set of new car tires in Udon , did a google search but not much help . cheers .

Yang Boonkit is my go to tyre place .. a few locations in Udon timmy .. i use the one that is at the entrance/exit to AEK hospital coming out of the hossy its on the left a few meters down.

You can barter with them and get a disc if replacing all 4...

i still pick up UK Cadburys chocolate for them when im in Bkk really nice family especially Mrs Boonkit lovely lady.

Can't agree more...you'll get a good deal there with a good choice of tires. The only downside is they will offer you a free alignment, but it's only a token alignment that takes less than 10 minutes if they even do it at all. The alignment shop is in the back and they will not let you walk back to observe. The owner's daughter runs their store on the Ring Road between Big-C and the Nong Bua traffic light. It's right beside the PTT station. I bought my last set of tires there and had a long discussion with her about the alignment. She finally admitted that it's not what we foreigners would consider an alignment, but it's okay for Thailand she said. I don't know what that is supposed to mean, but I can only tell you that it wasn't okay with me. If you want a full 4 wheel alignment where you can watch what they are doing, go to B-Quick in the big yellow building behind the gas station beside Home Pro. You can't beat their service and you can get a comparable deal on tires if they're having a promotion.

the only alignment angle you could check in 10-15
min would be " toe-in". how much can you expect
for free. is steering wheel straight, does vehicle
pull, are tires visibly worn abnormally, are suspension components solid, spindle/ hub bearings in good shape. then get good alignment

spoke to your " go to place " this morning she quoted me 2500 a tire fitted and balanced and if i used the branch on KK road i could have a free service ( not sure if thats me or the car ) best go on my own ..

The roads here are so uneven and full of mini pot-holes eetc, that every year I have the Camber and Toe-in checked, often no adjustment required, but it certainly cuts down on tyre wear and improves road holding

you can actually do it in your own carport with a
trammel or tape measure ( toe-in) they sell camber gauge ( sort of advanced carpenter's level) with magnetic base for that angle (10£)
even check caster ( with degreed turntables)
