Stan. the last time, the domestic discount ticket was booked for me by a friend in Bkk. I can't remember the discount percentage otherwise I would have recorded it for you and as I can't find the discount level from Thai Oz, since you are Johnny-on-the-spot, I suggest you pick up the phone and ask Thai Udon or a travel agent if you are interested

Bangkok Airways are the only airline that fly to Koh Samui (they own the Airport !!)

Early morning flight and the last flight of the day are generally 2,500 baht each way.

Air Asia are about the cheapest, followed by Nok air from Udon to Bangkok

Does anyone know when the Air Asia flight from Udon for Bangkok arrives at the new airport this Friday? I had difficulty getting information from the Air Asia web site although it looked like the time of arrival from Udon was 6:40 in the evening. I am supposed to arrive from Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific at 5:30, and hope that I will have enough time to meet the people coming in to welcome me. By the way, the round trip fare seems to be lower than that on Nok Air.

Thanks again.

Is there a price war on air fares happening in Thailand at the moment?

I was looking at prices on the internet and this is what I found.

Nok Air......

Tues 20 november 2007, depart Don Mueang
3 flights 06.00, 12.30, 17.00... aircraft 737... price 331.78bht one way.

Tues 04 december 2007, depart Udon
3 flights 07.30, 14.00, 18.30... price 378.50bht one way.

Air Asia.....

Tues 20 november 2007, depart Don Mueang
1 flight 16.15.... price 399bht one way..... I fare
Wed 21 november 2007,
1 flight 16.15.... price 659bht one way..... v fare

Mon 03 december 2007, depart Udon
1 flight 17.40.... price 399bht one way.... I fare
Tues 04 december 2007,
1 flight 17.40.... price 720bht one way.... p fare

Not complaining about different fares, but isn't this awfully cheap
Dont know what the initials mean with " fare "... :-k
Looks too good to be true.. Any thoughts??

Sorry, I am not experienced with the internet. On further investigation, errr, going the next step. I got different figures.
Air Asia...
Bkk to Udon for 2 people...2137.86bht
Udon to Bkk for 2 people...2030.86bht
Total... 4168.72bht

Must be taxes added on.

But still looks a good price.

As far as I can figure, Nok Air does not take bookings from overseas..
Not sure about Air Asia. Anyone out there have any experiences booking from outside Thailand. I really am computer illiterate. 8-[

Gozzo,
I've booked on Nok quite a few times from OZ with no problems. They have been known to have internet booking issues from time to time (with accepting credit card payment) with international bookings which happened to a friend of mine. All as she did was ring them and sorted it all out over the phone.

My husband and I booked Nok Air on-line last week from Udon to Chiang Mai, in preparation for our November visit -- paid by credit card from U.S., no problems whatsoever.
