The US has already come at it from the opposite direction - with special titles such as Billy-Bob and Mary-Lou to identify the un-elite. And all of them united, and instantly recognisable by their prized red MAGA caps.

You can thank Trump if the democrats prevail.
I agree. This election is a referendum on Trump. He's either going to win or lose, pretty much regardless of who the Democratic candidate was going to be. Same as last time, -- I don't think that Trump won so much as Hillary lost.
You pretty much covered all the options there didn't you "He is either going to win or lose" Can I get a bet on that one. Donald WON, Hilary LOST, fact. Or Hilary nearly won, sounds better if your a Democrat.
I think that you've missed the point. This election is going to be a referendum on Trump. The result would be the same regardless of which Democratic candidate got the nomination, except Bernie. People are going to vote for or against Trump. He's the issue.

Meanwhile, back in the 'better dead than red', 100% MAGA heartlands, are Bubba and Karen doing any better? Like biggly? Yuge even?
Thought the gentleman made a perfectly valid point. No need to show how ignorant most left wing socialists are to the utter failure of Marxist principles. Cuba, Russia, China and many more that can be added to the list. Please just give us just one example of auld Karls theory being a success.
Comparing Democrat-governed cities in the US with cities in Marxist countries now are we?

Hold on while I have a wee ROFLMAO....

...OK, thanks for that.

I have lived and worked a collective 10 years in the three socialist countries you mention and beyond the free healthcare and doctors making house call in Cienfuegos, the daily non-stop Il-62 service from Magadan to Moscow and everyone having rice to eat in Golmud, there's not a single redeeming facet of totalitarian rule.

I didn't see any overt evidence of state oppression by their respective militia's though. The immigration in Kamchatsky were happy to let me off the ship, go eat and drink with my Russian crew and do my "house arrest" at a nightclub despite me being an illegal alien. Certainly no snatch squads or rooftop snipers going about.

Back on topic: how's it going for Republican-voting Bubba and Karen in their doublewide?

Trump has been busy lately:

That's 19 July and the dingbat Lindsay Graham is one of the golfers with him. I'm a bit reluctant to call it golf if players aren't walking the course.

And Fauci rightly trumps Trump and gets the big sports job:

Sweet Jesus! All that in one day?! That was some serious bad luck. The cops never messed with my room mate in Havana and she was an Italian hooker on her third year there. Mind you she was very literate which probably helped her fit in well in Cuban society.

But enough of this fireside reverie, eh? I thought your support of the likening of Democrat controlled US cities to those in TOTALITARIAN states was funny. But it seems like you may actually believe it. That's quite sad.

...nah, it's still funny.

Well you started it darling.

So, cutting to the chase you earnestly started with your Have and Havenot hypothesis and with acknowledgement to AlexO for injecting some levity, disregarding the flu that "American will brush off", is your average Trump voter in a better financial position today almost four years down the Great American soil pipe than they were in 2017?

Looking at how easily riled up and angry they always get, we won't bother seeking out their happiness quotient at this juncture.

Fact check: Big cities have crime and more Democrats, but it's a stretch to link them

Claim: America’s most violent cities are that way because of their Democratic politics

Are areas populated by Democrats more violent?

That’s the fundamental claim in a viral Facebook post connecting murder rates and partisan leanings in America’s largest cities. ...

The graphic’s “deadliest” label is attributed to the FBI Uniform Crime Report. We’ll take that to refer to the “murder and non-negligent manslaughter” data the FBI compiles annually for every city in the US. ...

There are a few issues here.

First, the varied demographic and cultural factors at play in each city make comparing raw data like this a questionable exercise. The FBI explicitly warns against this type of ranking: ...

Coronavirus’ spread in GOP territory, explained in 6 charts

Coronavirus first spread in the United States as a mostly coastal and big-city scourge, sparing many rural areas, small towns and even small cities. Translated into U.S. political geography: The virus hit Democratic areas first.

No more. An Associated Press analysis of coronavirus case data shows the virus has moved — and is spreading quickly — into Republican areas, a new path with broad potential political ramifications.

You misunderstood my question. What are these Democratic Mayors doing to reduce gun violence and improve living conditions in the racialized parts of the cities they govern? Your links do not answer the question.

Jumping in here
As for what the yanks are doing to reduce gun violence, who cares they have their 2nd ammendment remember. I have said before give everyone a license to carry at birth and issue them a firearm, problem solved.

What are they doing to improve living conditions? 2 answers That is an American issue not a Canuck one,so who cares and remember the moto ""Make America Great again" from 2016 and the Orange Toads new one, "Keep America Great" So it appears Trump has already reached his goal for America therefore no money for the States that may need help

Canadians should be asking for a Wall on the border with the USA oh and by the way just like said to Mexicans were equested to pay.The Canucks should be telling the USA to pay for it to keep the covid infection at bay.

My links, if you cared to read them suggest that this whole 'racialized' Democrat inner cities is an invention of an incumbent administration that is increasingly running scared. Your question is moot.

Yes there are riots but the Portland ones notably had virtually petered out. Then the Feds arrived uninvited and it all kicked off again.

I mentioned it in another thread that the undeniable high gun crime rate in Chicago, Illinois is greatly enabled by being right on the border with Indiana. Chicago has some of the strictest gun control laws in the country whereas Indiana, VP Mike Pence's state, has some of the most lax gun control laws in the nation.

Wrong again, the riots are out of control and getting worse. Gun control does not control illegal guns purchased and used by criminals which is also out of control. If politics have anything to do with these issues it would be the left desperately trying again to garner votes for themselves. They have tried lying and false accusations with no effect and this promoted unrest is their last kick at the can.
