The Shetlands eye Independence?
The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.
Re: The Shetlands eye Independence?
They have been saying it since the 1970's Vince. Same crap as Nippy. If oil is $120 a barrel we can be a rich wee Nation, if not we are a nation of beggars.

Vince. This Wee Jimmy is for staying in the union and I feel strongly about this ... I really dread the thought of us being separated by that bitch.vincemunday wrote: ↑September 11, 2020, 7:14 pmOne in the eye for wee Jimmy?

The Wee Nippy one is only after her own gains and a rise to stardom.
I'm in Scotland at the moment and it's mostly the youngsters and women who think she's done a good job over covid-19 who support her.
When I occasionally go for a pint most people have no time for her.

The Shetlanders: anti EEC in 1974, pro-Union in 2014, pro EU in 2016 and anti-union in 2020. All over the place like Wee Nippy's nonsense.
A nation of stunted ponies and scraggly trees bent at 45 degrees to the wind. They only started making their own whisky last year. Their future's so bright, they gotta wear shades.
The Faroe Isles got autonomy because they were way, way too far from Copenhagen to be a part of practical domestic political decision making. Lerwick is less than 90 minutes from Holyrood by plane and has the fastest broadband in the UK.

Agree Wee Jimmy ,I’m a big fan of the Union(not the plastic one across the Channel) .When you have the SNP Justice Minister complaining there’s too many white people, and an SNP advisor saying Unionists are “anti Scottish” I do feel now the People of Scotland are at a crossroads.Wee Jimmy wrote: ↑September 11, 2020, 11:30 pmWee Jimmy wrote: ↑September 11, 2020, 11:28 pmVince. Re: The Shetlands eye Independence?
With a population of 23,000 I wonder how many MP's they could have ? Plus ministers ,under secretaries , then of course their own civil service , a couple of hundred ambassadors and don't forget local councillors . Jesus they would need migrant workers as no one left to take care of the fishing boats and the sheep. Their government could meet up once a week at the local pub

Re: The Shetlands eye Independence?
The quoted article suggested the Shelties being "anti-union in 2020" although I agree that's specifically a secession from Scotland and all a bit cloudy on any ongoing fealty to Westminster.Chuchi wrote: ↑September 12, 2020, 7:55 amAnti -union in 2020?
