I wonder if W747en Beatty knows that team he's supposed to support won or has he forgotten again.
Edit: He's been approved. All aboard.

Re: EPL Banter Thread
I've just woken up and after scanning the Covid 19 news in NZ yesterday I was delighted to see this photo and a match report:
An excellent start for the Map's principal team.

747 will jump on the bandwagon... For this week anyway.
Re: EPL Banter Thread
I see one of the teams that statts thinks will be relegated is lying third on the table part way through the round.

Edited game highlights from official club media.
Liverpool (win) = 1:31 minutes
Leeds = 2:01 minutes (same game)
Everton (win) = 17:42 minutes
Spurs = 2:13 (same game)
I guess there's not too much to be proud of from Anfield, eh?

Of course, Everton's many millions of supporters in the UK and around the world will be happy with this splendid win.
It seems to have stirred the usual rabble on the Map too. Catholic and non-Catholic.
Newcastle also won you know. I'm cool with that. As for the Leeds game, I wish Leeds had won. I heard some dodgy penalties went against them.

Re: EPL Banter Thread
^^ Nothing dodgy although proper rule interpretations could have made the first one revocable by VAR*... but nobody wants to use that any more than we need to, especially on the opening game of the new season. The second one was a dead-to-rights calamitous error by new-signing Rodrigo which was probably only eclipsed by Vin Dijk's casual toe flick that gifted Bamford the second Leeds goal.
* According to the IFAB - the body which governs the laws of the game - "it is not an offence if the ball touches a player's hand/arm... directly from the player's own head or body (including the foot)."

Re: EPL Banter Thread
Yet on the day "your team" was playing, you were copying and pasting irrelevant statistics NOT discussing Everton's new players and the clash between Mourinho and Ancellotti, you even turned to VVD's looks. Then Everton win and it's the Once a Blue crap.747man wrote:Silly Boy Ain't Yer ?? Just Remember " Once A Blue ALWAYS A Blue " NOT A GLORY Hunter or a SYMPATHY Supporter " Wall Pusher "

Re: EPL Banter Thread
Why didnt var overule the toffees "goal"??
It is supposed to check for "clear & obvious" errors leading to goals, and even sitting in front of my TV (with only one angle to look at) I could see the free kick was taken from 7 or 8 metres away from where it should have been
