Post by averagejoe » June 26, 2007, 5:04 am

planning on visiting udon and from there fly to saigon. anyone know if there are flights to saigon from udon? and i heard conflicting answers pertaining to visas. a few people told me that i have to apply for a visa in order to visit vietnam from thailand. and some said that i didn't need to. anyone know the facts to that?

No you can not fly direct from Udon to Saigon. You will either have to go back to Bkk or Laos.

Yes you will need a visa to go to Viet Nam.

As a suggestion, also visit Hanoi. Wife and I really enjoyed our time in Hanoi vs Saigon.

That is normal planning a trip. Sometime to much in will cause oldhimers.

Hope you enjoy your trip.

Check the web site for the Vietnam Embassy. They will tell you what you need and how you can go about doing it.

For my initial Thai Visa a few years ago, all I had to do was mail my passport to the Thai Consulate...

When looking at getting a China Visa, found out that I either had to do it in person or have a travel agent bring it to them in person. They do nothing by mail.

For an Australian Visa, I can simply obtain that on-line.
