and i thought that odd? shouldn't that be up?

That is strange pg.. possible cut backs ?? due to the current health probs ??.moved inside to create more beer garden and stage room outside ?? .... saying that on my travels the only place i have seen large business display Christmas trees is in Bkk... went past Central in KK and Ubon last week and nothing.

Remember a Christmas tree is for Christmas not for life... (unless artificial)

Yes, now you mention it I didn’t see any outdoor shopping mall trees on the way back either.

I seem to remember in years gone by a massive tree & display outside Royal Garden Plaza in Pattaya but this year nothing. All the malls had indoor displays, the Central Festival tree was 4 floors high, but nothing outside Christmassy

Not in the slightest. In fact I’m firmly in the DM camp here, it’s all a load of commercialised b0ll0cks.
I only started coming here in December to escape the nonsense in the UK although the Thais have now caught up.
When Mrs N & The Boy moved over to the UK I told them as they are Buddhists we wouldn’t be celebrating a Christian festival. I was called tight-fisted but only respecting their religious beliefs

Can anyone remember the only festive decorations in Pattaya as being a tatty sleigh being towed by a fibreglass superman on the roadside outside Alcazar?

I recall a time when Christmas wasnt celebrated much at all in the bars in Sin City .. then it joined Halloween and Walentines Day as a major commercial event ..

IMO Christmas decorations are horrid things .. and afire hazzard , surely in this woke society they should be banned.

IMO Christmas 2020 should of been cancelled the world over due to the pandemic and the never ending Brexit deadline saga... of course others will disagree.

Maybe Central etc. put up the trees in the past as there were many foreign tourists in Thailand who wanted to celebrate Christmas.
Now with Covid us foreigners are becoming a rare species here so not worth the effort
Our 5 year old is really into Xmas the last couple of years or so.... already complaining our tree isn't big enough... wtf....

Al thought i dont bother with the festive period myself i have spotted the latest great gift idea for the follicaly challenged one you love .. why not treat your guy to a whole new head of hair ...total transformation with a hair patch or mini wig .. patch they look the muts nuts ..

DMs Worst Christmas gift ever .. tho was quite a hoot .. the club we had in Pattaya some of the girls got me a mankini as a joke , alas back then i was a total raging fruitcake so after a few bevvies on it went i did a full rotation of the poles .. received loads of tips notes stuff in places they shouldnt ov been ...alas no bar fine

Back to 2020 ..the present day .. OMG its time i went to Bkk as Christmas tunes are now eminating from The Tap next door so far ive endured jingle bells , band aid , away in a manger and now hark now hear the angels sing N JINGLE BELL ROCK SANTAS COIMNG TO TOWN .. like fook im off!!!

This is pure torture , in fact water boarding would be a prefered option.. FAI DAP please
