Hopefully the threat of No Access to our waters will be enough for the French fishing industry to bring Macron to his senses, after all, a Deal with some access is better than a No Deal with none.
If it does go to Jan 1st, then I hope the French fishing fleet stay out of our waters - no one in their right minds wants there to be conflict on the seas which could result in an accidental death of a fisherman. That would really sour relations between UK and EU to the extent both sides would suffer economically on a grand scale.
I'm hoping for a Deal - but a fair one for the UK - some of the EU demands are just plain unrealistic. Politicians (who are all far too rich to hurt individually) are playing a dangerous game with our futures.
Hopefully the EU will subsidise the EU fleets until they knuckle down and sort this mess out.
Both sides have suffered enough with the Chinese Disease, and don't need this avoidable confrontation.

Yes, let's fight to protect the right to catch the fish that the vast majority of Brits don't eat anyway while cutting off the already paltry and imperiled imports of our beloved cod and haddock.

The UK is pulling a blinder here creating an issue out of fishing. Cod stocks were over-fished to the point of near collapse in the early '90s. Smart UK fishermen sold their quotas to Spanish and Dutch operators and now the UK will seize those fishing rights back unless the EU accepts UK freedom to support businesses as they see fit within the common market.

The added threat of gunboats will concentrate the minds even more.
