Presume there are loads of places, it just depends who/what you want to spy on

In addition to the above link and this .......

I would be incline to get some form of liability insurance anyhow.
In many countries such as in Aus, model flight insurance can be had for as little as $200 a year or less.
Usually associated within clubs.

Drones must not be flown within 9 kilometers (5 miles) from an airport or temporary airfield except with special authorization.Doodoo wrote: ↑February 28, 2021, 1:24 pmHope this will helps

Thank you everyone and yes, by Law you need the insurance to fly a drone in Thailand.
Several options the cheapest being 2,500 Baht

Re: Flying a drone in Udon Thani
Good value for those living there on a 12 month basis, not too attractive for the one or two flying sessions on a 1 month stay.
No other options..?

Not exactly the case if the Ministry of Transport document is still applicable.AA Ins Broker wrote: ↑March 3, 2021, 3:50 pmThank you everyone and yes, by Law you need the insurance to fly a drone in Thailand.
In section 6 it says insurance required for anything over 2kg and under 25kg.(among other things)
Section 5 though, does not have this insurance requirement for under 2kg.
That is unless one starts to introduce meanings into section 5(d) which says "have an emergency plan including plan for accident".
Now that could be interpreted to mean just about anything I guess.
Re: Flying a drone in Udon Thani
Even small drones can fall out of the sky or they can hit things or people. It's pretty much like anything else in Thailand and it's up to to the individual if they want to 'self insure' their small drone activities. It would be better if the authorities had a compulsory minimum for the non-commercial, recreational drone flyer. Something similar to the compulsory vehicle insurance but maybe only around 500 baht.

Ok, I'm obviously missing something here.
Apart from delivering small items (Pizzas etc) what OTHER use is there to having a drone (apart from spying on someone or something)?

When I'm not spying on the neighbours I use mine for great videos and pictures when we go somewhere nice for the day or on holiday.stattointhailand wrote: ↑March 6, 2021, 3:15 pmOk, I'm obviously missing something here.
