I have heard from a couple of different sources that private hospitals in Thailand are working on securing stocks of vaccines. Look for availability in maybe a couple of months and a ballpark figure of about 200 bucks.

Here's a sneak peek at the soon to be released WHO investigation into the source of the outbreak. Stifled yawn stuff. Nothing new to see here, move along now.

The reason a vaccine passport wont work
Reason you are vaccinated with a 90% chance it works so that is a 10% fail
Those 10% failures may have the virus and could pass it on to the mass unvaccinated
Leading researchers say humans have a year or less before the coronavirus mutates and first-generation vaccines are ‘rendered ineffective’.

Who did the research noosard ? the researchers you looked Quoted said humans have a year or less before the virus mutates ? it is mutating in a few month's noosard and our top Scientists who first discovered the vaccine have told us any virus that mutates is still effective fighting it. They have also like the flu jab everyone will now need a yearly Covid jab.
Even the flu virus mutates yearly that's why we have it yearly.

You have the mutation frequency a little off, influenza has around 50 per year COVID has much lower mutation rate of less than 25, so far 1 is less effected by the vaccines but they are all still better than any of the flu vaccines.

Leading health experts from around the world warned the slow roll-out of vaccines and unequal distribution could mean the shots become ineffective as new coronavirus mutations appear within the next year.

Seventy-seven scientists – from leading academic institutions from around the globe – participated in the survey with about 30 percent suggesting second-generation vaccines will be needed as soon as in nine months, unless vaccines become more widely produced and distributed around the world.

Second generation/modification to current, vaccines is an extremely fast process, the timeline is in a few weeks or couple of months. So the development not a big deal and is already in process for B.1.351 and P.1.

These second generation vaccines are fine but it still means all the first lot vaccinated will need doing again
repeat the cycle over and over

Was speaking to a receptionist at the BKK Hospital the other day about this subject, apparently they are getting a lot of enquiries and not only from expats. She said getting authority was purely Govt Bureaucracy related (where are our "Brown Envelopes"?), the drugs could be sourced privately. Could not comment on charges but said the customer would have a choice of vaccines.

Nice follow-up there BD. One of my sources was quoting what he was told at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. The other one is a Thai guy that works regularly with several government departments.

It rather depends on when you get vaccinated. Also there is no data yet on the length of time and extent of the protection (there has not been enough time yet)

It is quite possible that even the first vaccines will have enough protection to reduce an infection down to the scale of a cold. So yes you become infected, but no it isn’t serious.

Currently ALL vaccines provide 100% protection from getting sick enough to be hospitalised at 4 weeks from the first vaccination. There is no data available on the length of time that the protection will last. There is an indication from the immunity to SARS that protection is likely to last a long time. Immunity is currently at 17 years and is increasing 1 year each year.

So you can thoroughly enjoy your doom predictions or be realistic and wait for the data to come in to prove or disprove your theory.

There are things you can do to guarantee that your risks are a low as possible, supplementary vitamin E is one.

"Bumrungrad has received immense interest regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. Out of concern for you and your family during this pandemic, please know that we have already completed the process of ordering Thai FDA approved COVID-19 vaccines, having followed government regulations and procedures. Additionally, we have been coordinating with other private hospitals in obtaining more vaccines.
We will inform you when we have received the vaccines and are ready to provide the vaccination service."

Currently no vaccines provide 100% protection
and depending on which age group and sex there is percentage that dont do well with the vaccines

Unfortunatly we have not got a 100% effective vaccine Noose but a 94% is good enough for me and the uk death rate and hospital / infection has fallen so fast. We are nearly readg to open up everything in the uk mostly due to the people innoculated. Europes dithering is now why France has had to lockdown again.

Keep in mind the following.

"For the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, things are a bit different. In a paper published in January, the authors explain that the vaccine offers protection of 64.1% after at least one standard dose. This compares to 70.4% if you've had two full doses, or – oddly – 90% in people who have had one half dose followed by one full dose."

Nice to know \:D/

Extract from Pfzer-BioNTech Statement: The trial also provides the first clinical data suggesting the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine works against B.1.351, a variant first identified in South Africa that has caused some concern among virologists. This is a "critical factor to reach herd immunity," Ugur Sahin, BioNTech's CEO, said in a statement.

Pfizer's study enrolled 800 participants in South Africa, and nine of them came down with COVID-19. All nine of the cases happened in the placebo group. Researchers sequenced those strains and found six of the nine were the B.1.351 strain.

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said in a statement that the extended follow-up time and efficacy against the B.1.351 variant "provides further confidence in our vaccine's overall effectiveness."

Would like to see the results from a study of more than 800 people \:D/

Some Country's don't even have the vaccine or other Country's dithering, costing lives and hardship. The UK has admitted 7 people have died from Blood Clots caused by the Astra Zeneka after a study of 20 Million doses small figures still sad but the risk outlays the virus.
