So must be true!

Re: Weather in Udon ?
No its not, just come from there. A bit breezy last night but no real rain unfortunately.
Re: Weather in Udon ?
Definitely a downpour in Ban Sabaeng. I saw it with my own eyes.
It’s actually brightening up at Chez Niggles now so looks unlikely for rain in the not too distant future

Re: Weather in Udon ?
It was hot today.
This morning, my wife and kid cajoled me into attending a a tamboon for our small gathering of 15 or so houses (not quite a village). It was held outside in the bocce ball court under two large tents and attended by about 50 people and six monks from a nearby temple. It was a broiler, made only tolerable by several large fans placed throughout.
The food was catered by a decent local restaurant, so I suffered in silence as the monks jabbered on for more than an hour hummana, humana, humana. I was sweating like a proper jock anticipating a good lunch.
At one point, the chanting stopped and one monk got up to offer the faithful a respite from the heat with a sprinkling of holy water. Something like this.
I'm not Buddhist, but I thanked the Lord for that splash. As he worked his way around the crowd, he drew up an extra helping of water to reach a couple people sitting in the back next to the stereo/PA system electronics. He flung his load out with a delivery that would make Nolan Ryan proud. Seconds later there was a loud hiss and then a thunderous POP from the electronics gear. The ear-splitting hummana hummana became a whisper. A child cried. And most importantly, all nine fans began winding down -- starved of power. The idle monks immediately chimed in to increase the volume as I looked around in disbelief. They weren't really going to continue on with this, were they? They were. I was drenched within five minutes; it had to be near 45. It occurred to me that no lunch on the planet would be worth sitting there for another hour. The monks droned on for another 10 minutes and made their exit barely touching the food that had been prepared for them. I made my excuses and walked home.
It was hot today.
My saintly wife brought me a doggy bag and thanked me for my "effort."

Well the Thunderstorm and accompanying rain at 0300 this morning was pleasant and certainly removed the oppressive humidity from the scene.
This morning at 0600, cool pleasant and seeing a garden that apart from some pots will not need watering today. Downside is that in the next two to three days, grass cutting and more weeding required.

Re: Weather in Udon ?
What a gloomy miserable morning at Chez Niggles. I can’t remember the last time I had the lights on at this time of day.
30, no wind, sticky, moist & damp
I reckon it’s going to tip down again before the afternoon
AQI has improved but not much considering the downpour

Re: Weather in Udon ?
The seemingly constant rain has now fully refilled my Water the garden tanks, will after seeping start to refill the underground water levels . Great for gardeners and farmers .
Cleaning the sair as it rains, washing the plants and generally putting a fresh face on everything. Dark ....nah just overcast , not cold nor damp just pleasant . Forecasted to occur over the next 24/48 hours then warming up a bit more , just in time for the NO Water throwing Songkran .....lol

Re: Weather in Udon ?
Just checke3d weather forecasting sources, the STORM is moving away in a Westardly direction by approx 1200 should be just spitting a bit . The remaining rumblings is its death throes, nice to water the garden, do for at least two days then watering the garden will be the norm again. Did note an entry on Thaio Visa, stating that Thailand will be experiencing more rain than normal never before known for 3 decades, should be interesting to see how Udon Thani copes with its revamp of drainage etc.......not holding my breath though.
Although I do remember some 19 years ago being told that Nonghan had flooded previously up to I metre in some houses in Nonghan TOWN

Re: Weather in Udon ?
It's moving west northwest so won't clear for a wee bit longer.
Re: Weather in Udon ?
I've had a minor leak in a valley since the roof was put on. Three different "experts" have tried to fix it over the last two years to no avail. In their defence, its really difficult to find the actual source of a water leak unless you can see it when its raining heavily in the right direction. Most of the time you just see occasional drips from the bottom of a purlin which is obviously where its accumulating from a higher truss often after its stopped raining.
Anyway, I climbed into the loft about three months ago armed with guttering sealant & expanding foam which I sprayed liberally down both internal edges of the valley. (nearly knocked me out with the smell in a confined space but that's another story) We haven't had any really heavy, blowy rain since until today & eureka, my repair seems to have worked

Low, fast moving cloud heading East here in the Rice Paddies (90 km NE of Udon), refreshingly cool. Very dark but little rain.
