Another really strange post vlad ..its like youve got a sense of glee at the current third covid wave here in Thailand , hoping for it to get worse not improve.
Yes i agree the video is disturbing shows these idiots disregarding covid regulations IMO you will always get the odd bunch of morons defying the authourites but i doubt it will effect you in Barrow. For a guy that obviously craves to visit or even reside / retire here , sends money here i find it strange you constantly deride the country , its culture and people sadly to the point you seem happy to be so anti Thai with regard to many aspects of life here and now also the current very serious covid situation... are you historically that bitter how things turned out for you here in the past ...if so its shameful.

btw i see no name calling in this post no need to be reporting it .. a pleasant reply would be nice highlighting why you choose to be so negative about a country that you clearly must hold some fond memories of..maybe even still love in some ways.

Tamada, it seems to read that all shopping malls must close before 9PM beginning on Thursday, but I don't read it as totally close indefinitely from that time forward. What's your take on it?

Good question SFG. Since most malls are pretty dead by that time, it seems redundant, no? I guess there may be some hi-so malls in Bangkok that crack on late until the member clubs open. So maybe an earlier shuttering across the board but daily operations as usual... until that doesn't make a difference.

Mrs N has just said there has just been a public news broadcast & Bangkok is going into lockdown as of midnight.

I guess they must mean specific areas but nevertheless no one in or out. How will this affect all the Songkran travellers if they can’t go home for the foreseeable future?

when the initial Songkran rush out from BKK was anticipated the government waived the self quarantine for travelers. I suspect there will not be massive roadblocks preventing people from going home later this week. I fully expect an exponential take off of infections soon. The wife just called me from the temple to warn me a fellow working at the ice plant down the street was positive for COVID. Seeing as how those fellows drive all over town delivering ice and rarely wear a mask no surprises there. Nearby us is the Udon Baptist church have a 4 day retreat with 40 people or so attending. Nary a mask and lots of hymn singing. Hope they obtain some heavenly help in avoiding COVID... the mandated bar closures were merely a knee jerk reaction to the Tong Lor hot spot spread. I didn't hear a peep about the numerous and sundry temple parties or large family gatherings that likely will contribute to issues..

Bolting the stable door after the horse has bolted springs to mind ... the horse in this case being Covid...
Lets not forget some of the SK traveling back to bkk may unknowingly be carrying the virus and will stop in busy service stations etc en route it doesnt just end when they leave their home town province.

Can only see the numbers going up for the next few days maybe weeks.
