We’re en route to Nong Khai & there seems to be plenty of places open. Everywhere we stop they look really pleased to see customers.
Hardly any traffic at all.

I can really get my foot down between stops 🤭

Please advise when Nong Khai moves itself to Udon thanks . Your last post would then have some relevance !

It’s quite impressive that you’ve managed to not mention a single thing about Udon Traffic in your last 15 posts.

(Could be more, I can’t be bothered going any further back)

To date seen 2 pick ups go past with people in the back and loud music playing some body gyrating but masks worn and no water being splashed or thrown .

Still very quiet on the ring road in the posh part of town .

Roads are still quiet but it appears more shops are closed. HWY2 down to the ring road along the ring road to Nittayo Road & up to the fruit market hardly any traffic. I went in Mr DIY for tat & was the only customer, Mrs N popped down to the fruit section & tells me she bagged a good price durian as there were hardly any customers.
Next stop Makro which was quiet, managed to park near the door then in & out like a ninja.
Up to the u turn at the end of the contra flow & straight round (might have been the traffic lights were just right). Down to a little garden centre under the bridge then up to the first u turn which again was straight round. Across HWY22 down past Intergames & through the villages to HWY2 & I don’t think I saw another car.

Today, as I cruised to have my fix of Viet noodle soup, then Central and Villa for some essentials, then Thai Watsadu for some lights.....I was thinking: What a perfect day to teach driving basics to a new driver.

A lot busier this morning at the AP/RR intersection ..the tumbleweed is all but a distant memory...no sign of any road guys yet but it is early.

News reports late last night showed very very heavy traffic heading back to Bkk .. with the same expected today and over the weekend.

HWY2 southbound is quiet.

Another COVID testing station has sprung up southbound too. I noticed a couple of buses in the makeshift lay-by yesterday. I wonder if it’s something to do with that fit to travel to other provinces thing for commercial vehicles?

Still fairly quiet through the centre of town. Our little sojourn to the cheap side was very uneventful with no delays or hold ups at all

Crikey, the rozzers are out in force at Prajak Circle. They’re on every road in & lots in the lay-by.

Strangely didn’t see anyone being pulled over though, least of all helmetless schoolkids 3 up on bikes

Went past the AP/RR junction,. was NOT aware it had been closed had yo go on down to a U Turn in order to access my hairdresser just down that soi . Is this a longterm action or just while they take ages doing whatever they are doing outside the TAP

We've been back for 3 weeks.....the ringroad/airport intersection has been closed all the time. Last I looked there was paving that still needed to be done on the airport side of the intersection, along with probably more long term work being done on the Tap side. When all's done, I'd guess there'll be some new signals put in........intersection opening before that time? Anybody's guess.

DM's in charge of the ringroad airport roadworks status updates. Has been that way since the get go.

However, depending on how fast your hair grows, you may be in for a pleasant surprise on your next trip to the barbers.

There's a blue sign announcing the conditions of the road work on the TAP side.....it's located somewhere between Big C and TAP. If someone would take a photo and post it, I'll translate. It should have the details of when the project is slated to be completed.

Roads were quiet this morning all the way up to the Government Complex & back again.
Big C seemed really busy although parking was easy

The small stretch of ring road near the airport is due to be finished no later than 26 July. Affected area is kilo 9+650 - 10+200. Cost 29,684,000 and loose change. According to the sign, the improvements will raise standards and improve efficiency. No further details.......sorry.

I heard some of the road improvements are being funded by a nearby salon who’s owner has some very influential friends.
