More fatalities can also be the result of inadequate medical care. Overwhelming a medical system with cases can become a real problem. The other issue is reluctance to get vaccinated. Vaccines slow the spread. In our extended Thai family only 1 person has been vaccinated.

The virus survival rate has gone from 99.45% on May 14 when the total number of cases were near 100,000 (99,145) to 99.19% survival rate with over 600,000 cases today.

Thailand's survival rate is so far remaining steady at 99+% and still better than the world's rate.

When looking at global death rates in 2020, the figure was around 3%. This was because the treatment regimes were often experimental, and many hospitals were overwhelmed. The Global fatality rate just for yesterday was about 1.8%. But yes, Thailand does seem to have got something right in its treatment, or has some other reason for a lower fatality rate.

However, actual deaths are probably far higher than 'recorded' Covid deaths. This link suggests Indian deaths may have exceeded 4 million. I am not familiar with this website so can give no assurances as to it's accuracy.

If you can get it, excess deaths are a better indication of Covid death rates. They have suggested actual deaths were anything between 10% and 500% higher, due to lack of accurate causes of death to government cover-ups (a particular problem in under developed countries for the first and authoritarian countries for the second reason). I did see some data for Thailand that suggested official figures are inaccurate.

Countries with high vaccination rates also now have low fatality rates. UK is about 0.4%

There is a distinct difference between dying WITH covid and dying OF covid. Time to make up some more numbers from somewhere to get this fear blown up to higher levels. People are not afraid enough.
