as posted in ExpatVac topic. the Udon Thani Provincial Health Office is taking registration for the Pfizer jabs TODAY. It is located at the junction of Makkhaeng and Athipbodee Roads. The security guards there at the Health compound entrance will direct you to the office doing the registration.. SYou need only your passport, they will copy it and assist in filling out the very simpple application form. They say they will call your number to confirm. Shots may be as early as next Monday 23 August or next Thursday 26 August.

Qantas to require all employees to be vaccinated against Covid

All Qantas staff, along with passengers on international flights, will have to roll up their sleeves...

"Qantas will make vaccination against Covid-19 a mandatory requirement for all employees, in addition to most travellers on overseas routes as international travel resumes across 2022.

Frontline staff on Qantas, QantasLink and Jetstar – including cabin crew, pilots and airport workers – will need to be fully vaccinated by 15 November 2021. ..."

An inevitable sign of the times maybe?

"Will those who refuse to be vaccinated please take the bus. Thank you."

Friend of mine in Pattaya who has already got his first AZ jab at Sumithivej in Bangkok maybe 6 weeks ago just got a call from Bangkok Pattaya Hospital offering a Pfizer shot "today" as they have open vaccines that need to be used or discarded. This is the fourth time (and second time at BPH) that he's politely declined a fast-track vaccination offer. Apparently there is a rule that the official record of being fully vaccinated can only be issued by the hospital that delivers BOTH jabs.

on the certification mentioned above, I'm not particularly worried since it isn't a private hospital doing it but the Publich Health Office.. I'll post about the queueing and process late Monday morning.

my friend that registered at around 0930 Friday was told he was #240 on the list. Now compared to estimates of thousands of expats in and around Udon, that definitely isn't many. This morning I received an e-mail from a friend in MahaSarakham where the Province is doing the same Pfizer jab at the Provincial level, totally separate from the ExpatVac/Intervac online system. Except the Mahasarakahm Health Office had a great English registration website for it rather than having people go down in person to register..

for Udon, and I suppose any other Province that is supposedly using up those Priority 1 Pfizer doses the key question is, "what about the 2nd dose????" I'll ask that when I get dose #1 Monday but suspect the answer will be, "when they get allocated by the CCSA and arrive you'll be notified..."

The short interval (4 weeks) is demonstrating a lowering protection over time, so much so a 3rd vaccination after 8 months is proving to be needed. This information is coming from the USA and Israel, both countries have now got large cohorts of people vaccinated at the 4 week interval.
People who had a longer interval (12 weeks) are not showing the same drop in protection. That doesn’t prove that a 3rd dose will not be required for them, just that there is no evidence yet.

The U.K. forced experiment of delaying the second dose to get the first injections into the maximum number of people has proved to give better long term protection.

Scientists created false narrative over suspected Covid leak from Wuhan lab, say experts

Documentary alleges group ‘stepped out beyond’ the evidence to claim that the idea that coronavirus came from lab was a 'conspiracy theory'

It is the Thai National’s country.

Sad that just because you have money to spend you do not get priority.

Initially , I thought that we would have to pay, however although it seems to be taking a long time, as the Government of Thailand stated it would vaccinate all including Migrants and Expats, one waits .

Now if there is a pressing need to be vaccinated, wishing to go outside the country for example or having to work in another country which many do, then it is preferable to pay to `get it quicker.
Many signed up for Moderna and paid. Many still pay for something that cannot even be sourced due to Government restrictions about who can / cannot purchase the Vaccines .

So I play the waiting game , keeping safe and follow the guidelines regarding masks etc including washing hands . No rush it will happen , plus the stress of trying to get vaccinated and then finding out that your second dose is delayed or driving for over 2 hours was a wasted exercise as they have run out .

People tell me they want to remain healthy, especially those on medication to stay alive but drink like fishes and smoke like chimneys, sort of hypocritical I think
