Does this mean Canada can look forward to a new Aussie/Koala Bar or the like?
Re: Ataboy Justin
a minority government means he's going to have to cut deals with the other parties... let's see what happens...

Re: Ataboy Justin
Is Erin O'Toole as emotionally fragile as the US president between Obama and Biden? Is a lot of girlie crying and allegations of a stolen election expected? Hopefully not.

Re: Ataboy Justin
$610 million spent on an election no-one wanted and the same result - a minority government. As Doodoo can probably research minority governments in Canada rarely last three years, let alone four. Trudeau promised to send Canadians to the polls again soon if he did not get a majority. Anyway, here he is in a pale imitation of a Hindu God,

Somebody wanted it as they spent the money. Its the system that Canadians want
You got him for another 3 to 4 years good luck

Re: Ataboy Justin
1 -- $610 millions is the price to pay for a free, fair, election. It's CHEAP compared to the billions spent South of the border to end up with a fiasco. Democracy, and an independent court system have a price and the smart Canadians understand that.
2 - << And the SAME result>> BS BS BS, these new results reflect what Canadians wanted at this point in time, Canadians understood that during this difficult period it was wise to keep Trudeau in place with a minority government.
It's a risky policy to change the caption during a storm.
3 -- Some Minority governments in Canada have been some of the best. They provide a measure of control over excesses that any government would be tempted to undertake.
4 - << Trudeau promised to send ...... >> . That was prior to the election, as of now NO ONE would dare to call an election. Trudeau and the opposition both lost that option which means they must work together for the good of the country. Very SMART those canucks.
May I politely suggest that you broaden your horizons and give up reading the National Post ( the FOX shXT of Canada ).

LOL I read all of the major papers and even The Star (the Liberal paper) said this election is/was unnecessary. The only reason for it is that the Liberals thought they could win a majority. They didn't, it was a waste of money. The Liberals were getting all their legislation through with the help of the NDP so that was not the reason for this power grab.
This is Singh advising Trudeau not to call the election, https://www.thestar.com/politics/federa ... ament.html
May I politely suggest that you broaden your horizons and read all of the major Canadian papers so you can provide a fairly intelligent response on Canadian issues. Fox news, indeed. Hah!

National Post << 7:47 a.m. — Loonie’s up: The loonie is strengthening against the U.S. dollar this morning in Asian trading, off the back of rising oil prices and the Liberals’ projected election win, which indicated the status quo of economic supports will continue apace. Foreign investors had worried Ottawa could face a deadlock that would hamper the country’s economic recovery. The Canadian dollar was trading 0.3 per cent higher, at 1.2785, to the U.S. dollar, or 78.22 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.2779 to 1.2830.

The communists were allowed to run - did Putin beat the parties who were not?
And what would have been the reaction of "the west" if they (those parties) were allowed to run in a free and fair election?

Since when has seeking an updated mandate been a "power grab" in a western democracy which adheres to the Westminster system?
However, kudos are due the opposition leader, O'Toole, who rightfully conceded the election, and proved himself not to be the same as the democracy and society-destroying narcissistic Tool from south of the border.

Re: Ataboy Justin
I can't find the direct quote from around Easter when Trudeau said there would be no election during a pandemic so this one from last year will have to suffice: https://globalnews.ca/video/7339265/cor ... udeau-says. Why call the election? Polls suggested that it was an opportune time for the Liberals to command a majority. With a majority, Trudeau would be able to shut down various committees looking into corruption such as permitting a high ranking member of Chinese military intelligence to work in a top secret virus lab in Winnipeg. She returned to the Wuhan Virology Lab with samples from the Winnipeg lab without permission. Why was she permitted into the lab in the first place. A Chinese triad leader was arrested a few months ago for running an underground casino that had underage prostitutes available for the high-rolling guests. Just before the case came to trial the case was dropped. Interesting. twice this triad leader, Wei Wei, had his photo taken with Trudeau along with members of a Chinese Government trade delegation visiting Ottawa. In addition, the Triad leader donated a million dollars to Trudeau's riding in Quebec. All legit, right? Allegations of sexual abuse in the Canadian military have been current during Trudeau's term. What has the Prime Minister done. I mean he is the feminist PM, isn't he? Well, it seems he has done little. He fired his Justice Minister, an indigenous woman, for refusing to lie during a corruption scandal. Does any of this matter? Wait, there's more....jackspratt wrote: ↑September 21, 2021, 8:12 pmLOL indeed Uncle.Laan Yaa Mo wrote: ↑September 21, 2021, 7:34 pmLOL I read all of the major papers and even The Star (the Liberal paper) said this election is/was unnecessary. Anyway, Trudeau called an election most people did not want. As in the previous election, the Liberals came second to the Conservatives in the popular vote. Furthermore, the end result is the same with a minority government. So, that's all to the good. The final tally is much better than the Liberals achieving a majority. Was it worth $610 million to get basically the same result as the previous election? Many Canadians are asking that question today

Thanks, but I'll need more support than that against this lot of Canadian political experts.

Well, good luck with your Afro-Caribbean Prime Minister, it's good to see he's back in control again.
I'd love to be invited to one if his fancy dress parties.
