Ken Burns on Country Music
Probably no one does documentaries better than Ken Burns......his latest, a multi-part series on country music will begin streaming on PBS on 15 Sept.

It will be nice to hear Hank Williams singing, 'I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry', 'Hey Good Lookin', etc, and Patsy Cline performing some of her hits.

I have really enjoyed the all Ken Burns series I have watched to date, but fear that 8 episodes of country music may be a (Tallahatchie) bridge too far.

But What is PBS ????
Re: Ken Burns on Country Music
I grew up in the Missouri Ozarks and we listened to the "Opry" on radio ever since I can remember. When I think about "Ode to Billy Joe" being a number one hit 52 years ago, the passage of time really starts to come in focus.

It brings back wonderful memories for me also when I was a kid sitting around the old vacuum tube radio in the evening that was tuned into the Grand old opry listening to Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys.

Re: Ken Burns on Country Music
If you get ambitious, you could put them on memory sticks and perhaps earn a few baht. I sold my collection and turn table last year. Of course I now have that music on my computer.
