Reminded me of my old teaching days in Bkk .. Satri Wat Absorn Sawan school on Phetkaseam road 6000 all girls place,..the teachers room was full of old lady teachers that had been there for decades , they loved to bring in home made treats and were all very kind to me and my buddy Kev.. 50 plus students in a class wasnt easy but i enjoyed my time there.

DM is departing for Buriram in the next day or so , will update again on any travel issues encountered and as before im thinking i will get the travel QR code again just in case... gotta transit those nasty road works between UD-KK again km after km ( i reckon at least 40kms) of closed roads down to single file stuck behind an overloaded truck doing 30kms an hour with little sign of any road work actually being done , not seeing hundreds of workers no wonder its gonna make my piss boil for another 5 years...ar well TIT .

Maybe indicative of its low uptake or redundancy? Or maybe they have something more appropriate in the pipeline for the multi-step staggered reopening across the enchanted kingdom? Either way, one less QR code or sheet of A4 printed out is a bonus.

One of my collegues in Romford managed to get this snap of DM organising a recent delivery from Ind Coope ... Double Diamond will be working wonders soon chaps (Nice Hat n boots)

Those were the days Statto .. my first drink as ayougster was via Ind Coope in the form of cans of Double Diamond... though i soon took to others such as Old Tom mild and John Smiths Bitter.

I still have my hat n boots but only where them on special occasions such as the birth of a bay in the family and Scunny wins.

Yesterday traveled by road from.Ud to.Bkk ..

Zero checks fir covid only showed docs to get into ware housing compkex
2 standard check points for car tax n tea caddy topping up collections between KK n Korat
Lots of off road flooding seen
Road flooding between Korat n Siikhio guessing half a meter deep.in some places but only the west bound side Lamthakhong rezivior side ...the easr going to Bkk was ok and fortunately i come off onto HW 24 before the flooding on way back .
Heavy heavy rain all the way from.Korat to Bkk and rained solid all.night in the capital .. normal.7half hrs took.9 hrs so not too bad .
Nit wishing to.do a KP but i still have to shake my head in disbelief what i see on the roads in such conditions , common sense to slow down is lost and.crazy speeds, lane weaving ..its mental no wonder so many accidents

Just a heads up.for anyone traveling that route

Update .... Bkk to Buriram to Ubon to Roiet .. plenty of flooding and constant torrential.rain .. safely in Le chic 101 hotel.near Roiet.

Due to the heavy rain no police checks of any kind today.

Seeing lots more roadside restaurants n twinkly karaoke venues now open and places delivered to all seemed quite busy which is nice to see

Last leg of the inter province trip this morning n now back in Udon ... Roiet to Udon via Yang Talat was done in dry sunshine which made a change from previous days .. quiet on the roads...no flooding.

and now for a nice kind police story .. and a small phib from DM.

As normal got stopped in the police check point at Nong Sung just outside Udon near the Nursing college ..the officer said 97 in a 90

To which i replied ...
oh sorry im rushing to the hospital as my wife is having a baby and i want to be there to see it .. (small white lie, i shall pray for forgiveness before bedtime)

Just watchin the early evening news and the roads are chocca block ..the carnage has most certainly started with a bang.
A plethora of multiple rtas n smashes mostly heading North from.Bkk to Korat .and beyond .. .also one 31 yr old on a big bike who was doing 265kms per hour ... suffice to say not seeing 2022.
It goes without saying travel only if absolutely necessary

Motorway 6 is open.

The traffic lights are back in operation on the east ring @ Nongbua. So now there's 4 lanes each way from just north of the Nittayo flyover, all the way to the Global lights. Only 3 u-turns to watch out for so it will be interesting to see how congested it gets either side of the holidays.

Also be interesting to see just how many omicron cases.hitch a ride during the next few days and into the NY.

DM no plans to travel South until wk 2 Jan 2022 ..hopefully by then be a tad safer... saying that ...a possible trip to Udons rather celubrious East side tomorrow .. the "outback" is calling so its plastic knives n forks , dusty roadside sausages n 3 legged dogs whikst navigating through the Favelas of Nong Sai
Already had booster typhoid n cholera so should be ok
