The number of people dead owing to black-on-black violence in the U.S.A. probably outnumbers those killed in colonial wars.

Mostly because nobody was keeping count back in the good old days. This modern affectation of having a statistic for everything is a real worry.

Are you sure? The British and Germans were pretty good at keeping track of numbers. I'm not so sure about the French, Spanish, Belgians, Dutch, Portuguese, Japanese, the Ottomans and the U.S.

The old colonials were pretty good at issuing their own numbers but was anyone on the other side coming up with how many dead or MIA they had? I doubt anyone bothered to do accurate head counts of the vanquished.

Racism or something else. The U.S has about 12% black citizens which commit nearly 40% of crime, blacks also commit more murders than the other 90% of the population. Every time I watch the news it is blacks that are doing the smash and grabs, car jackings, gang shootings and most every crime on the news. Most black people in the U.S. are good citizens but a small percentage are bad news in a big way. Could this have an effect on how police and others feel about blacks? Maybe it is not racism but just reality.

British Africa didn't go as "sideways" as German or French or Belgian or Portuguese Africa though. Even India can be viewed as some sort of success. Pakistan not so much.
