Non refundable, worth keeping in mind if booking in advance as there's no guarantee that the rules won't change in the coming months.
Good to see more options in Udon however.

One meal, so that'll probably be b/fast.
Last time we stayed there 1400 Baht inc 2 x b/fast = do the maths, not a good deal.

Yes, they are all milking it but when the other option is a r/t flight to Bangkok to get the day 5 test & go done at a marginally cheaper hotel, it's a better deal. Also keep in mind that upward of 4000 of that is Bangkok Hospital's exorbitant testing fee.Bandung_Dero wrote: ↑February 15, 2022, 2:59 pmOne meal, so that'll probably be b/fast.

Siamgrand say three free meals so that would be a late lunch, dinner and then breakfast the following morning. If I was paying around 6 grand for a night, I would stay where they include more food and I get what I am paying for. That's my inner Scotsman of course.
Pannarai probably counts on the average Soi Sampan munter only staying for as long as it takes to get the test results before they check out and go looking for ladyboys.

My experience last September when I had three hotels shortlisted, one was totally refundable but their communications were glacial. Another was 50% refundable but in the city whereas I wanted to catch the earliest flight to Udon the next day. Of course the totally non-refundable hotels were ALL near the airport. Go figure.

For those further South (or Northereners wanting an alternative), I went round a couple of the hotels in KK to check out the day 5 offerings.
Kosa wanted 4900 but, Charoen was cheaper at 3550. Going to check out Avani tomorrow.
Interestingly, it seems worthwhile booking flights so that Day 5 coincides with a weekday as there are less appointment slots for testing at the weekend. My Day 5 is a Saturday and I was told I would have to check in earlier than if it was a weekday to get an early test. She did say that I could do the testing etc on Day4 but, I dont think that's correct as the Thailand Pass would be turned down if I put the wrong date on.

"The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has decided to change the second COVID-19 RT-PCR test, currently required for overseas arrivals on their fifth day in the country, to a self-administered rapid antigen test and will reduce the amount of required insurance coverage from US$50,000 to US$20,000."

So, back to Thailand Pass v1. but with a lowered insurance grab.mak wrote: ↑February 24, 2022, 6:47 am"The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has decided to change the second COVID-19 RT-PCR test, currently required for overseas arrivals on their fifth day in the country, to a self-administered rapid antigen test and will reduce the amount of required insurance coverage from US$50,000 to US$20,000."
Not quite out of the woods yet but this will make it easier for "resident tourists" to come and go. Still not sure how many genyoowine tourists will be interested though. That is beyond the 200,000 Saudi's that they reckon will be flooding in now the blue diamond murders seem to be a thing of the past?

I suspect that many of the genyoowine two wrists will stay away until they stop ringing the last orders bell at 22:50. Who the hell wants to be told to go to bed at 11pm when your on holiday? ........ I'm sure sitting on the steps of 7/11 with a six pack whilst suiting some, will not be everyones cup of tea (or tin of beer)

Re: all about the new "Thailand Pass" starting november 1, 2021
Question,
Wife is trying to get new Pass after she was not able to travel with old QR Pass coded due to plane cancellations. When doing new submission, she is now getting API Server Error. Tried work around using CORS Chrome extension, but still receives error. Any thoughts on how to correct error?
Thanks in advance for any help given.

I haven't read of anyone having a repeat of the issues that plagued TP v1 last Fall. Maybe a purge of browser cache and turn off the CORS extension or try another browser?

News is getting better.
Thailand Pass TEST & GO updates
From 1st March 2022, the Thai Government has announced a relaxation of entry restrictions to Thailand for fully vaccinated travellers. Under the revised Test and Go program, travellers only required one day quarantine at an approved SHA Plus+ hotel and on the 5th day, a rapid antigen test only is required. The insurance coverage is reduced from US$50,000 to US$20,000.

Re: all about the new "Thailand Pass" starting november 1, 2021
And exactly how many +ve cases do they expect people to report after taking a day 5 RAT?
I'd have a guess its gonna be pretty close to 0%
So, what's the point of doing it anyway?

Appears to be a requirement under the test and go application to "record/report" the result of the 5th day RAT test, whatever that means.Perhaps there are details on "how to do" on the application.
I'd imagine that to be via internet or similar, but then again, what's the point of it all.
Roll on 6 months down the track...think about returning then.
Saw a video on Phuket nightlife on Friday night and compared to Pattaya it is bussling.
Could fire a cannon down most streets in Pattaya and not hit anything.
No idea why the different requirements.

The second, DIY or hospital administered RTK test under TP v1 last November was either reported back to the AQ hotel (as in my case) or was carried out at a local hospital (as in my friends case). Amid reports of visitors either ignoring the need to do the second test (likely) and hospitals being unsure on how to report these test results (unlikely), they initiated this v2 with the 5th night AQ malarkey.
I read that Pattaya is reintroducing the 50-person cap on public gatherings again due to the current BA.2 spike.

Re: all about the new "Thailand Pass" starting november 1, 2021
Does anyone know why you would chose Sandbox instead of Test & Go?
Will be travelling to Phuket in March and will apply for the Thailand Pass in few days.
Looking at both Test & Go and Sandbox (with the updated rules from 1st March) I don't see any benefit of choosing Sandbox?
Thanks

Re: all about the new "Thailand Pass" starting november 1, 2021
Thai pass sorted for 3 of us, flying out in April.
Much improved on the last time I did it in November with the turnaround time about 5 hours instead of 5 days. I got the approval back on the evening 28 Feb UK time that's how much more efficient they've got the process.
Just the pre-departure and day 1 covid tests between us and a normal holiday now. I've heard rumours from 2 different sources now that the day 1 test may be scrapped this month, 17th March was mentioned. Only rumour at this point though.

I did my applications yesterday morning (1st march) for 3 people and received all approvals this morning.
In the end I opted for Test & Go as could no see any reason / point / benefit for applying for Sandbox
