St Vincent de Paul Society National President Claire Victory said the decision was both “cruel and unnecessary”, slamming the two-party system for failing to offer countless Australians a better option to vote for in the upcoming Federal Election

Greens leader Adam Bandt has told a journalist to “Google it, mate!” after he was asked about a claim made in his pre-election pitch to voters.

In a speech to the National Press Club on Wednesday, Mr Bandt said the Liberal and Labor parties had designed a system which drove down wages, pushed up consumer prices and gave big corporations and billionaires too much power.

Asked what the wage price index was, Mr Bandt said that was the type of question that was turning people off politics.

“It's about what happens when you have an election that increasingly becomes this basic fact-checking exercise between a government that deserves to be turfed out and an opposition that's got no vision,” he said.

Liberals tried this in the last election:- Death Duties = Scare mongering???
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-04-13/ ... /100982062

Right now I believe it's BS but as each year goes by it WILL become an inevitable reality. There is too much capital in the Superannuation system for any government to keep their khunt scratchers off. IMHO, they will not tolerate it being handed down father to son for ever, being built on every step of the way.

Anthony Albanese has enraged reporters after cutting a press conference short and backflipping on a promise just three days into the campaign trail.
Expect plenty more of the faux-"outrage" headlines from the Murdoch owned and controlled News Ltd media over the next few weeks.

That could create a problem as the "Mail" is blocked in Thailand no matter how many times google or his mates tell you to go there

I'd much prefer not having to read the khrap on the Daily Mail site ...... and that option is free

Thanks to the Thai govt any time I get tricked by their clickbait without realising its the mail, they show me a nice screen pointing out my error

I wonder if he sent a happy thingyan message to Myanmar as well? They'll like the "acceptance and tolerance" bit.

No idea if Myanmar celebrate Songkran.
Go to the source and ask in the Australian Embassy Bangkok who posted the letter.

Earnest let you friend know the 3 answers are
1 Watch out for UM trolls, the guardian, lefties and fence sitters.
2 Same as answer 1.
3 no one is like Boris.
We Australians don’t have to vote in the election.
But if you do want to cast a vote it must submit by postal means. Register and get the postal vote package now if you feel your vote will help.
Well, bugger me with a Bofors gun, I wasn't aware a chap from Blighty could vote in an Australian election. I shall tell my pal from darkest Hampshire to get registered as soon as.

The Australian Prime Minister goofed. Burma celebrates its own New Year, Thingyan, as tamada points out. His message should have been addressed to Thailand since he is attempting to write in Thai, which is not used in the former British colony. Laos and Cambodia celebrate New Year at this time too. I don't know if Sri Lanka (Ceylon), another Theravada Buddhist country, celebrates their New Year at this time or not.
You only pass through this life once, you don't come back for an encore.
